Eating strawberries with whipped cream while watching Wimbledon tennis has always been an imaginary English summer. Indeed, whipped cream strawberries have been sold on the court since the first Wimbledon match in 1877. Britain seems to be the leading producer of strawberries, so I'm afraid few people know that the strawberries eaten today are not native to Britain at all!

The vegetable garden preserved in the medieval castle shows that the British used to eat wild berries (Alpine Strawberry). The original red berry is petite in shape and spiny in the epidermis. It looks like litchi from a distance and tastes rough. This kind of wild berry is available everywhere in the woods, and it is more hardy and relatively sturdy.
