How to match the orchid planting soil
Orchids originally grew in the slightly acidic soil with a high content of deciduous humus under the deep mountain forest, which is generally loose, breathable and excellent in fertilizer conservation. Therefore, artificial planting, it is best to configure culture soil, because orchids have strict requirements on the soil, as long as they grow best in such a soil environment. In cultivation, the cultivation soil has a variety of materials, the preparation of different planting soil, now let's take a look at how to prepare orchid soil.
1. Sand and stone materials
Orchid growth soil needs ventilation and certain voids, so most of the ingredients are hard materials, such as peat, coarse sand, river sand, vermiculite, broken tile particles, firebrick residue particles, or burnt briquettes. The advantages of these materials are permeable, good drainage, orchid planting soil is about 65% of these ingredients, more important, the choice of which needs to be decided according to other plant materials, while the materials should be disinfected.
2. Plant materials
The main materials are sawdust, peanut shell, pine needles, deciduous leaves, bark, can be used as a culture soil, note that these generally need to be made, pepper, and then used. Need to be cooked before fermentation, fermentation is relatively fast, but also can be sterilized. The fermentation time of these materials is different, and you can choose according to your needs. Generally, it is good for peanut shells to grow orchids, and those whose bark falls off naturally for several years can not be fermented.
3. Fertilizer
Go to the mountains to harvest humus soil, it can be used directly after disinfection, the fertilizer effect is better, and other ingredients can be reduced. All kinds of residue left after oil extraction, bean cake and tea cake fertilizer are very good fertilizers with obvious effect and good growth. In addition, the mature dry cow dung residue can be used as the basic fertilizer, the fertilizer effect is more direct, the absorption is very good.
4. Preparation method
Different orchid species can be prepared with different planting soil, mainly according to the characteristics of the variety. 40% humus soil, 20% peat, 30% river sand, 10% vermiculite is suitable for growing Chinese orchid; 50% humus soil, 30% coal pellet, 10% cow dung and 10% peanut shell are suitable for national orchid cultivation. The commonly used ones are humus soil, river sand, peat, vermiculite, cake fertilizer, cow dung, peanut shell, pine needles and sawdust. In fact, you can match it freely, or you can refer to the configuration experience of others.
There are many materials for orchid planting soil, which can be freely combined or prepared according to flower varieties; you can refer to others', or you can try recipes that others have not used before, but if it is a valuable orchid, it is generally best not to try it blindly.
