Cucumber has a high nutritional value, because there is a large market demand in China, so the planting area is also relatively large. When cucumbers are planted in a large area, there are many places that need our attention. Growing cucumbers also has many technical points, and many people do not pay attention to it, which leads to relatively low yield and poor quality. So today, the editor will introduce to you the key points of cucumber cultivation techniques. Let's have a look.

1. Land selection and preparation

The soil pH suitable for planting cucumber should be controlled at about 6.5-7. The soil should be rich in humus, normal drainage and irrigation and strong ability to preserve soil moisture. The previous crops of soil should not be melon crops to avoid the harm of soil-borne diseases. After selecting a good site, it is appropriate to do a good job of soil preparation and cultivate it with high border and deep furrow. The depth of the soil is about 30 cm, the width of the high border is about two meters, the depth is 0.3 meters, and the length is determined according to the actual situation. Then apply sufficient base fertilizer and mix it with the soil evenly to improve the soil fertility.

2. Sowing and raising seedlings

Cucumber should do a good job of soaking seeds and accelerating germination before sowing. First use 50 degrees warm water to blanch cucumber seeds, hot seeds should be constantly stirred to avoid scalding seeds, about 10 minutes after fishing. Then soak it in 30 degrees water for about 5 hours. Then remove and drain the water, wrap it with a wet cloth and put it in 30 degrees water for budding. The seeds will germinate after about a day, and the seedlings will be raised mainly in a small arch shed in a seedling bed. The seedling age is about 2-3 weeks for colonization. It is appropriate to plant with soil to avoid injuring the roots of seedlings.

3. Fertilizer and water management

Before planting, we should apply sufficient base fertilizer, which is the key to ensure the yield of cucumber. During soil preparation, about 2500kg is applied per mu of farm manure, combined with appropriate amount of wool fertilizer and superphosphate. Fertilization was carried out for the first time when the plant grew about two true leaves. Because the root absorptive capacity of cucumber is relatively poor, it is necessary to apply more and less fertilizer. Topdressing about once a week, each time the main fertilizer is urea, the amount of fertilizer is controlled at about 5kg. It is necessary to control the moisture in the seedling stage, increase it appropriately in the flowering and fruit stage, and reasonably control the watering frequency according to the weather. It needs to be watered once a day in sunny days and drained in time in rainy days.

4. Set up a frame to draw the vine

Cucumber is a kind of trailing plant, so when we plant, we should also do a good job of setting up and drawing vines. When tendrils appear in cucumber plants, they will start to build a frame, which is mainly a herringbone frame, and the vine will be drawn once in about 3 days. When introducing the vine, to ensure that the plant branches are evenly distributed on the support, it should be carried out in the evening on a sunny day. According to the variety of cucumber to do a good job of pruning, if the main vine results, then generally do not need pruning. If there are many lateral vines, then the heart should be removed and pruned.

The above is a brief introduction to the key points of cucumber cultivation techniques. Cucumber planting must be more good fertilizer and water management and construction work to ensure the yield and quality of cucumber. That's all for today's introduction.
