Orange is one of the four famous fruits in the world, originated in southeastern China, is a kind of Rutaceae citrus, planting range is very wide, orange young tree management is related to the future tree potential and yield. So how to manage the young orange trees? Let's get to know it.

1. Soil management

If a young tree wants to grow healthily, it is necessary to find ways to promote its root growth. By expanding holes and improving soil, fertilizer pits with a length of 1 to 1.2 meters, a width of 40 centimeters and a depth of 40 centimeters can be excavated along the outside of the fruit. The application of sufficient fertilizer to each plant is beneficial to root growth. In combination with deep fertilization, deep ploughing and soil improvement is carried out 1-2 times a year, at the same time, interrow land is used to plant green manure for two seasons, intermediate ploughing and weeding is carried out 3-4 times a year, tree disk mulching is done well in high temperature and drought, and inter-garden drainage should be done in rainy season.

2. Fertilization

1-3 years is the growth period of the tree, at this time, fertilization is mainly to enhance the vegetative growth of the tree, promote the emergence of robust branches, make it expand rapidly and form a high-yielding tree. Fertilizer should be applied frequently and thinly, eat less and eat more, give priority to nitrogen fertilizer, and properly cooperate with the principle of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. You can use urea or compound fertilizer solution of dilute rotten bran manure + 0.1% Mel 0.3%, once every 15-20 days, with the increase of tree age, the dosage is from small to large, and the concentration is from dilute to dense. Topdressing should be carried out every year according to the growing period of young trees to promote the emergence of robust shoots, and to turn green in new shoots should be combined with pest control and spraying potassium dihydrogen phosphate foliar fertilizer to promote the ripening of new shoots and old shoots.

3. Shaping and pruning

Young trees are also a stage of young tree management, through pruning to increase the crown, shape a good tree shape, lay the foundation for high yield, summer orange should adopt the natural garden head tree shape. Cut the top and fix the trunk at the height of 30cm to 40cm. After the new shoots germinated, there were 4 main branches with strong growth and uniform distribution on the trunk, and each main branch was equipped with 2-3 secondary main branches to form a good crown skeleton with strong bearing capacity. In addition, it is necessary to wipe buds and control shoots in time. When the first batch of young trees planted in that year are mature, sporadic shoots should be erased during summer and autumn shoots, so as to make them neat and robust, and reduce the damage caused by leaf moths and aphids. In addition, the remaining weak branches and improperly positioned overgrown branches, cross branches, disease and insect branches will be cut off.
