Family cultivation of potted flowers, a small number, overwintering more combined with indoor beautification, placed in the study or living room; parks, botanical gardens and industrial and mining units have more potted flowers, most of them build a certain area of greenhouse for flowers overwintering. In addition to the greenhouse for cold-resistant flowers overwintering in winter, many small potted flowers that like shade and dampness, are not tolerant to strong light and are afraid of rain are generally cultivated in the greenhouse. The winter and summer management techniques of greenhouse are described as follows: 

1. Winter management of greenhouse

The temperatures required for the cultivation of flowers in tropical, subtropical and warm temperate zones are different, and only by meeting the temperature they need can flowers grow well and survive the winter safely. For potted flowers, in addition to air temperature, it also includes soil temperature and irrigation water temperature. 

Soil temperature directly affects the normal growth and development of flowers. If the soil temperature is too low, it will prolong the growth period of flowers. Therefore, potted flowers should be placed in a place where the potted soil can be exposed to the sun in winter. 

(1) Irrigation water temperature for potted flowers in greenhouse in winter, the irrigation water for potted flowers must be introduced into the greenhouse for storage before 24 to 48 hours. After the water temperature rises, it is forbidden to irrigate with cold water which is more than 10 ℃ lower than the air temperature.

(2) daylighting flowers can be cultivated directly under the condition of light in greenhouse. Cover up the light for flowers that like shade. In order not to affect the glass absorbing solar radiation heat during the day so as to increase the indoor temperature by covering the curtain on the outside of the greenhouse, trailing flowers originating in tropical and subtropical areas can be planted near the wall in the greenhouse, so that the branches can crawl all over the roof truss, creating a dark environment below. 

(3) Air humidity is native to tropical and subtropical regions, except for pulpy flowers, most of them are not resistant to the dry climate of northern winter. In order to cultivate this kind of potted flowers, it is very important to create a humid environment. The air in the heat preservation greenhouse is moist, and you can often sprinkle water on the ground and repair more storage cisters. it is best to install artificial spray. In addition, according to the natural phenomenon that the water temperature is higher than the air temperature, the use of solar energy or warm steam return pipe through the pool to make the water temperature rise to produce a large amount of fog steam, which is more beneficial to keep potted flowers moist. 

(4) the ventilation greenhouse must always keep the air fresh in order to facilitate the growth of flowers. Therefore, when the temperature is high at noon in winter, the doors and windows should be opened for proper ventilation. 

(5) watering potted flowers overwintering in greenhouse, most of them are dormant and grow slowly, and do not need a lot of water, so watering should be controlled. Strictly grasp the principle of "dry and thoroughly irrigated". As for the promotion of cultivation of all kinds of flowers, watering should be the same as the summer dew season. 

(6) other potted flowers overwintered in the greenhouse in winter, due to stop or slow growth, do not need a lot of nutrients, so generally do not carry out topdressing. General management work such as weeding and removal of dead branches and leaves in ploughing is also less than that in summer. 

2. Summer management of greenhouse

Many small potted flowers that like dampness and are afraid of rain can be cultivated in the greenhouse all the year round. The main management work is: 

The main results are as follows: (1) cooling is an important work to cultivate potted flowers in greenhouse in summer. If the cooling measures are not taken, the sunshine is too strong and the temperature is too high, potted flowers will cause charred branches and leaves and even die because of sunburn. According to the practice for many years, the method of strengthening ventilation, covering the curtain and spraying water on the roof is adopted to reduce the temperature, which can make the temperature in the greenhouse slightly lower or the same as the outdoor temperature. If the refrigeration machinery can be installed and the temperature in the greenhouse can be reduced to less than 30 ℃, it is more advantageous for the flowers which are not resistant to high temperature and native alpine areas to survive the summer safely. 

(2) shading around noon in summer, the outer glass surface of the greenhouse is shaded by a curtain to reduce the illuminance of the greenhouse. 

(3) strengthen ventilation in the greenhouse in summer, which is blocked by the building structure, the air convection is often slow, so ventilation should be strengthened to make the air in the greenhouse smooth. 

(4) Prevention and control of diseases and insect pests in summer, the air in the greenhouse is not ventilated, the temperature is high, the humidity is high, and muggy phenomena often occur, and many diseases and insect pests are very easy to occur. Ventilation and cooling measures should be taken to prevent them. Once found, they should be prevented in time to prevent spread.
