Pomegranate is a very popular fruit, which has a large planting area in China. After passing through the early stage of planting, pomegranate can be harvested every year. The yield of pomegranate is relatively high, so it is generally impossible to guarantee that all the pomegranates can be put on the market in time after harvest. At this time, we need to do a good job of preservation to avoid decay affecting the efficiency. So how to preserve the pomegranate after picking? Let's take a look at it with the editor.

1. Hang and store

Hanging and hiding is to lower and connect the pomegranate fruit with a rope to form a string. Then put it in a cool and ventilated place where the temperature should not be too high to avoid reducing the storability. Or you can wrap the fruit with paper, film, etc., and put it in a place where there is little change in temperature and humidity. In this case, it can generally be stored until the spring of the following year after harvest. It should be noted that if storage is needed, then we should harvest about two weeks in advance to prevent the fruit from overripening and decay during storage.

2. Stacking

First of all, we need to choose a suitable storage site, which should be based on ventilated and shady houses. There are no other sundries in the house, make sure it is clean and tidy enough, and pay attention to the disinfection work before storing it. Then spread about five centimeters of straw on the ground, then put a layer of pomegranate on the straw and cover it with a layer of straw until all the pomegranates have been stored. When stockpiling, you should pay attention to checking it every 2-3 weeks or so. If there is rotten fruit, it should be picked out in time, and then the straw should be replaced, which can generally be stored until April-May of the following year.

3. Can storage

First of all, we need to choose a clean, germ-free container, wash and disinfect the container, and then lay a layer of wet sand with a water content of about 5% at the bottom, with a thickness of about 5 cm. Then put a handful of straw or cylinders in the middle of the container for ventilation. Then put the pomegranate on the side, the pomegranate can be piled up to about 5 cm away from the mouth of the jar. After reaching the position, cover it with wet sand, then seal it with plastic film at the mouth of the jar, or store it until March-April of the following year.

4. Bag storage

Before carrying on the bag storage, the pomegranate should be pre-cooled first. Then carry on the disinfection, put the treated pomegranate into the polyethylene film, tie it tightly, and then put it in the room with suitable temperature. The storage time of bag storage can reach about 3-4 months, and the fruit quality will not be greatly affected. And can also be packed in ordinary bags, put at a temperature of about 3 degrees, can also be stored for about 100 days.

The above is a brief introduction to how to preserve pomegranate after harvest. The preservation of pomegranate is very important, affecting their own planting efficiency, so we must pay more attention. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only.
