Last Updated: 2024/11/06, Cold winter will make the leaves of succulent plants appear translucent, or let the leaves fall and soften for no reason, when your succulent plants may not survive the winter and frostbite, so what about succulent plants frostbite?

Once there is frostbite in succulent plants, the result is irreversible, so it is best not to let succulent plants get frostbitten and put succulent plants in an environment of about 0 ℃.

What about frostbite of succulent plants?

1. Slight frostbite

Some leaves of succulent plants show signs of frostbite, which is characterized by signs of hydration and shrinkage, becoming transparent or even ashing.

If only part of the leaves are frostbitten, as long as the subsequent conservation environment does not tend to 0 ℃ (preferably 10 ℃), there is no problem for succulent plants to survive, but the frostbitten leaves can not be recovered, and the shrunken and hydrated leaves will fall sooner or later.

two。 Severe frostbite

Most of the leaves and even the stems of succulent plants show signs of frostbite, obvious hydration and shrinkage, and become transparent and even ash-blackened.

This situation is more complicated. if only the leaves show signs of frostbite and the stem is not transparent and blackened, then put the succulent plants in a bright and slightly ventilated environment of 10 ℃ for about a week, do not water, remove the obvious frostbitten leaves, and make a slight observation, if there is no trend of hydration, you can generally continue to survive strongly. If the stem shows signs of transparency and softening, remove the frostbitten stem (be sure to remove it, it will spread all the way), smear the wound with carbendazim, place it for observation, and then insert the branch after a period of time. If part of the stem already shows signs of frostbite from the beginning, remove the frostbitten part directly, and then repeat the above steps.

3. The succulent plants were directly frozen to death.

If the whole leaves of succulent plants are severely frostbitten and even the stems are hydrated, you can only let your succulent plants rest in peace.

In short, once the occurrence of frostbite in succulent plants, the result is irreversible, so it is best not to let succulent plants have frostbite. Don't let succulent plants be placed in an environment around 0 ℃.
