Dongzao is a very high quality jujube variety, smooth surface is not rough, rich in nutritional value, high sugar content. Winter jujube not only has all the nutrients of other jujube, but also has more than ten kinds of amino acids essential for human body. Therefore, more and more people are planting winter dates now, so how should we manage them when planting winter dates? The following small series brings you the field management technology of winter jujube. Let's take a look together!

1. Shaping and pruning

When we plant winter dates, we must do a good job of shaping and pruning. We should choose a reasonable shaping method according to the planting density. If shaping is carried out in a high density jujube orchard, it should be mainly free spindle shape. There should be about 9 main branches evenly distributed on the trunk, and no layered overlapping phenomenon can occur. The length of the main branch is controlled at about one meter, the upper part of the main branch is long and the lower part is short, and about 6 branch groups are reserved. Each branch group shall not be crowded with each other, cross and other undesirable phenomena. To remove some unused branches in time, improve the permeability of the crown. Select jujube head from base to renew branch group.

2. Fertilizer and water management

If the orchard is densely planted, the soil should be kept soft enough to ensure that there are no weeds and good irrigation practices. When the tree is grown, it is grown on the ground and below the ground. Topdressing in rhizosphere should be carried out before germination, before flowering and fruiting, and at important stages of fruit development. According to different growth periods, the nutrient ratio in the fertilizer is controlled to ensure that the nutrient requirements of winter jujube are met. Then in these periods should also pay attention to watering work, to prevent soil drought affect the growth of winter jujube. However, the moisture and humidity in the field should not be too large, and drainage should be carried out in time, otherwise it is easy to cause undesirable phenomena such as fruit cracking and fruit dropping.

3. Flower and Fruit Management

After winter jujube trees bloom, when there are about 5 new jujube crutches on the jujube head, the topping work should be carried out according to the growth of the jujube head. Strong and weak dates are retained in a ratio of 4:3. Then, after germination in winter, the redundant jujube heads on the branch groups should be removed in time to avoid excessive consumption of nutrients, so as to enhance the growth of winter jujube trees and improve yield. After the winter jujube enters the initial bud stage, all the lateral flowers are thinned and two central flowers are reserved. Concentrating nutrition on fruit can not only promote fruit expansion, but also effectively improve fruit setting rate.

4. Timely harvest

When we harvest winter jujube, we can't carry it out after winter jujube is fully ripe, its storage and transportation ability is very poor, it is easy to rot and lose commodity value. Therefore, we should harvest the fruit when it is about 25% colored. At this time, the fruit storage and transportation capacity is relatively high. When picking fruit, if it is dropped, then the buffer items such as cloth strips should be placed underneath to avoid fruit damage and affect yield.

The above is a brief introduction to winter jujube field management technology. The field management of winter jujube is very important, which directly affects the yield and fruit quality of winter jujube. Therefore, we must pay more attention to it when planting.
