In flower cultivation, we often encounter such a problem: sowing some relatively small seeds, there are few or no seedlings. How can we make it emerge better?

First, it is very important to understand the characteristics of seeds, including the required temperature, humidity, light, soil and so on. For example: Germany primrose spring can not soak seeds, the flower is easy to lose its vitality after soaking seeds. The seeds of Ranunculus ranunculus prefer low temperature, and the seedling temperature should be about 8 ℃, but it is difficult to emerge if it is more than 12 ℃. Petunia, paulownia and other seeds should be about 25 ℃. If they are soaked and shelved in a low temperature place for 2 days, the seeds may rot and not a single seedling will come out. Some seeds are light, and some are light-disgusted. Good seedlings can only be raised under suitable environmental conditions.

Second, the selection of sowing equipment is a hard plastic nursery box with a length of 50-60 cm, a width of 30-40 cm, a height of 8 m cm and many small holes at the bottom. You can also use boards to make their own, the size depends on the amount of sowing, but not too high. When it is too high, if there is too much soil, it is not easy to flood for a long time; if there is little soil, the high walls will affect the light. The bottom of the wooden box should be drained, and must be soaked in water for 2-3 days before use, until soaked thoroughly, otherwise the box and soil are easy to separate.

Third, the matrix is prepared to mix the rotten and fine barnyard manure, humus soil, fine sand and garden soil according to the ratio of 2 to 1, sift through a sieve that can sift the sorghum rice, and sterilize it in the sun for a day.

4. Cover the bottom of the box with 1-2 cm cinder the size of soybean grains. Then spread the prepared matrix on it and flatten it, 4-5 cm thick. Then use the sieve on the sieve surface to sift a small matrix, about I mm, to fill the soil particles to prevent the tiny seeds from falling into the soil and unable to break out of the soil. But not too much fine soil, otherwise it is easy to grow moss.

5. Sow seeds and fine sand in a ratio of 1: 1, 000-2000, mix well in a basin, and sprinkle evenly on the substrate. Then use a smooth plank to gently press on the soil layer, do not compact, so that the seeds can be combined with the soil. Finally, the wooden box is immersed in water, and the water level cannot exceed the soil surface. Add water with the immersion until it is soaked. Take the soaked wooden box out of the water, cover it with glass to moisturize (do not use plastic film, because it is easy to hurt seedlings by dripping), control the water slightly, and immediately move to an environment suitable for seed germination. Depending on the variety, the fast 4murs germinate in 5 days, and the slow ones sprout in 10 days. Remove the glass after seed germination; wait for most of the seedlings to be moved to a suitable growth place for maintenance. Note that never water or spray water from above before two true leaves are grown. Others are carried out according to the normal seedling stage management. In short, small seeds have poor adaptability to the outside world and weak resistance, so sowing must be meticulous.
