The ratio of flower material to container in flower arrangement is very important, the trunk of general flower material in pot is about 1.5 times of the width of flower pot, and the trunk of general flower material in vase is about 1.5 times of bottle height. There are several forms of composition in artistic flower arrangement.

(1) the composition of unequilateral triangles; take three flowers or branches and leaves that represent the theme, and the top three points are connected to form an unequilateral triangle, which is the skeleton of the work (these three flowers are called master, secondary and subordinate). For example, take a flower that is 1.5 times the length of the pot and insert it in the middle of the flower arrangement, and then take a flower with a length equivalent to 2x8 of the trunk as the secondary trunk and slightly obliquely insert it on the right side of the trunk (about 20 degrees). Then a flower with a length equivalent to 1x3 of the trunk is accepted as a thousand, obliquely inserted on the left side of the trunk (about 45 degrees), forming a triangle with unequal sides, which is the skeleton of the work. The rest of the flowers or branches are added within the height and width of the three flowers.

(2) l-shaped composition: it is often used in basin insertion. The socket is placed on the left side of the basin, the trunk is upright, and the secondary trunk is slightly obliquely inserted on the left side of the trunk. The stem is inserted horizontally on the right and close to the basin.

(3) Circular composition: generally adopt the composition technique of unsealed: closed, asymmetrical, round-like and non-circular. In circular towels, flowers often form semicircles or arcs, which need to be sketched out with the help of branches or leaves. Seven day lilies are inserted into an unclosed circle. Because the branches of the day lilies are hard, four curved ribbon grass leaves are thrown to break the hard straight lines of the day lilies, forming an arc and forming a circle.

(4) s-shaped composition: generally used for tall vases or high-foot flowerpots to form cliff flower arrangement. The material is usually made of naturally curved branches or spikes of woody flowers, accompanied by other flowers. (5) Radial composition: sword-shaped flowers or leaves are generally used as the main body, such as palm, silver willow, silk orchid, calamus orchid, foxglove, etc., inserted into symmetrical or asymmetric radial patterns.
