With the improvement of people's living standards, people pay more and more attention to food, and grain is becoming more and more refined, and rye is a kind of grain and a cherished variety of wheat. So how to grow rye? Let's take a look at it with the editor.

1. Land preparation

Rye has no high requirement for soil and can grow normally in barren slightly acidic soil, but its yield is low, so it is suitable to be planted on fertile loam with neutral and good drainage. The seeds of rye are small and light, so they should be cultivated carefully during soil preparation, requiring smooth border surface, no soil clods, and good drainage ditches all around, so that there is no stagnant water in the field, keep the soil moist, but not flood seedlings.

2. Sowing seeds

Can be spring sowing or autumn sowing, generally there is autumn sowing, the suitable sowing time is from September to October, the earlier the sowing is, the higher the yield is, and the sowing method is generally this case sowing or strip sowing. The amount of seeds used is about 1.5-2 kg per mu, and the seeds can be mixed with calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer after sowing, but in case of drought and dry soil, it is necessary to irrigate the seeds in time so as not to affect the emergence of seedlings. It is recommended to sun the seeds for 1 hour before sowing, and then soak the seeds in warm water for 12 hours, which can significantly improve the emergence speed and emergence rate.

3. Ploughing and weeding

Attention should be paid to weeding at the seedling stage. The earlier the sowing time is, the more exuberant the weeds grow, so it is necessary to do a good job in weeding, while those sowing in late October generally have few weeds. Weeding can be carried out in three steps: spraying glyphosate on the soil before sowing can effectively remove weeds; shoot you glyphosate once before emergence after sowing; and weeds in the seedling stage are generally broad-leaved weeds, which can be removed by artificial weeding. In the vigorous growth period, it has a strong inhibitory effect on weeds, so there is no need to weed, weeding can be combined with intermediate ploughing, loose soil, promote root development, but the early stage should not be ploughed too deep, so as not to damage the root system.

4. Fertilizer and water management

Rye is sensitive to fertilizer and water and likes nitrogen. The more sufficient the soil fertility is, the more obvious the effect of increasing yield is. It is required to apply about 3000 kg of organic fertilizer per mu when sowing, 20 kg of calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer is used to mix seeds when sowing, and nitrogen fertilizer should be applied in time after each harvest, the effect of increasing yield is obvious. It is also sensitive to water, watering properly at tillering, jointing and booting stage and watering in time in case of drought, so as to keep the soil moist and increase yield obviously.
