Liquoric root is a perennial herb of Leguminosae, and it is also a traditional Chinese medicine with a long history. The main medicinal part is the rhizome of the plant, which has various medicinal effects such as clearing heat and detoxifying, relieving cough and eliminating phlegm. Now in our country's planting area is very extensive, in the planting of licorice, its harvest time and method is also very critical, then when should the harvest be specific? How to harvest? Let's take a look at it together with Xiaobian below!

1. Harvest time

The harvest time of licorice should be adjusted reasonably according to the planting method of licorice. If the seed is direct seeding, harvest it in the fourth year of planting. If it is rhizomes or ramets, it can be harvested in the third year. If it is transplanted from seedlings, it can be harvested in the following year. Glycyrrhiza uralensis L. secreted more glycyrrhizic acid within 3 years, and then in the fourth year, the content of glycyrrhizic acid reached about 2.5%. So that's why it's harvested four years after sowing. According to the climate and other factors in the planting area, the harvest time is selected in spring and autumn, and the harvest is generally carried out after the stems and leaves of licorice plants wither in autumn.

2. Harvesting methods

Harvesting methods should also be reasonably determined according to planting methods. If it is direct seeding and seedling transplanting, then manual and mechanical methods are generally used. Artificial harvest, now two rows of plants next to the topsoil will be dug up about 25 cm, exposing licorice plant roots and then grab it pulled out. Then put the second row of excavated soil on the first row, and so on, can significantly improve yield and protect soil quality. If mechanical harvesting is used, then the plow should be deeply cut about 35 cm and the lateral roots of the plant should be cut off. Then the root is taken out, and after harvesting, the root and stem of licorice are straightened out, tied up and processed in time.

3, processing methods

Licorice processing place should not be too far away, to choose in the high terrain, dry, ventilated normal and clean place. Fresh grass after harvest should be reeds, lateral roots and rotten place to cut off. Then cut it into strips of about 30 cm according to the layers, and then tie it into small piles for drying. After about 5 days or so, pile up into a large stack, and then put it in a suitable environment to dry in the shade. Finally, according to the national standard to do a good job of bundling, or artificially reduce the semi-processed licorice cut into pieces for air-drying.

The above is a simple introduction to the time and method of licorice harvesting. The harvest time and method of licorice should be reasonably controlled and adjusted according to the planting method to ensure the yield of licorice and expand the planting benefit. Today's introduction is here, this article is for reference only, I hope to be able to help you oh!
