Trunk modeling: black pine bonsai can be made into oblique dry type, curved dry type, cliff type and other shapes, can also be made into stone-attached bonsai. Because the needles of black pine are rough and long, they should not be cut into layers, but mainly in natural shape, showing the characteristics of typical pine trees.

2. Panza

As the regeneration and germination of black pine species is weak, banding is an important means of this kind of bonsai, and the method of storing branches and cutting dry is not feasible for this kind of tree species. Even Panza must be careful not to break or sprain the branch in the process of banding or pulling. Whether it is broken or split, the phloem tissue at the wound will not form a foreskin and continue to grow as quickly as the fast-growing tree species, but die first from the wound to the end, if there are no living lateral branches from the wound to the base, and the waterline is cut off. the whole branch will gradually retreat and die to the base.

Therefore, when banding, you should not use too much force or pull hard and twist. If it cannot be put in place at once, it should be done step by step. In particular, the cultivation of large cliff (upside-down) pine bonsai, on the basis of the original curvature of the pile, should be tied or drawn many times for many years, and gradually increase the sag. In case of accidental injury, you can use ordinary varnish (commonly known as varnish) to seal the wound, which may be effective. It takes a long time for the black pine to be fixed and the wire will be removed after it is fixed. If there is any recovery due to growth in a few years, it is necessary to do banding or traction again.
