Propagation Methods and Seedling Management of Campsis chinensis
Lingxiao flower originated in central China, has been cultivated for more than 2000 years, Lingxiao complete flower is about 4-5cm, the color is very bright, mostly yellowish brown to brown. The propagation of Lingxiao flower is mainly striping and cutting. because the flower grows fast and blossoms many times, we should pay attention to pruning and fertilization, and pay attention to ventilation in winter or summer.
Lingxiao is a kind of small deciduous rattan, which is also loved by most Chinese people. next, let's take a look at the breeding method of Lingxiao.
Ling arm can be propagated by cuttage, striping and plant division. Choose sunny, well-drained, deep and fertile loam for planting. Cuttings can be carried out in both spring and summer, select thicker one-year-old branches, cut 10-15 cm cuttings, cut off leaves, then press row spacing 15-20 cm, plant spacing 5 cm on the cutter, insert 2cm into the soil, press and water.
It is covered with plastic film in spring to maintain a high temperature and a certain humidity, usually at 23-25 ℃, and take root about 20 days after insertion. If the branches with air roots are cut and inserted, it will be easier to survive.
Lingxiao is not easy to bear fruit, and it is difficult to get seeds, so cutting and striping are mainly used for propagation.
1. The method of cutting propagation
Most of them are carried out in spring in the south and in autumn in the north. The middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River are suitable for April-May, and the survival rate is very high. The method is to select sturdy and pest-free branches, cut them into 10~15cm segments and insert them into the soil, which can take root in about 20 days. It can be carried out in spring or rainy season, and it is suitable for Beijing from July to August. Cut off sturdy branches, each 10-16cm long, cut on a sand bed and covered with glass to maintain adequate temperature and humidity. The general temperature is 23-28 ℃, it can take root 20 days after planting, and it can be moved to the field in the following spring, with row spacing 60cm and plant spacing 30-40cm. In the warm areas of the south, the new techniques of the first year can be cut off in spring and inserted directly into the ground to take root and survive.
2. The method of striping propagation
There is aerial root on the stem of Lingxiao, and the method of strip reproduction is relatively simple, which can be carried out in spring, summer and autumn. After about 50 days of rooting and survival, it can be cut off and transplanted. In July, the sturdy vines are pulled to the surface, buried in sections with soil, showing buds and keeping the soil moist. It will take about 50 days to take root, cut off and transplant after rooting. The south can also press strips in spring. 3. The method of split-root propagation: it should be carried out in early spring, that is, the seedlings born from root buds near the mother plant should be dug up and planted. Lingxiao is not easy to bear fruit, and it is difficult to get seeds, so cutting method and striping method are mainly used in propagation.
Seedling management:
Early management should pay attention to watering, late management can be more extensive. When the plant grows to a certain extent, a supporting pole should be set up. Proper pruning can be carried out before germination every year to remove dead branches and over-dense branches so as to make the shape of the tree reasonable and conducive to growth. Before flowering, some compound fertilizer, compost and proper irrigation were applied to make the plant grow exuberantly and bloom luxuriantly. The pot plant should be selected for more than 5 years, keep the trunk short by 30-40cm, trim the root, retain the main root system, and regenerate new branches after potting.
The sprouting new branches only retain the upper 3-5, and the lower ones are all cut off to make them into an umbrella shape, control water and fertilizer, and can be formed in one year. Set up a scaffold to allow it to climb, the following summer bud timely thinning flowers, and apply a liquid fertilizer, the flowers are large and beautiful. Spend the winter in an ice-free room, strictly control watering and prune before sprouting in early spring.
It is advisable to cut off branches that are not well organized, dry and crowded in winter in early spring to keep them clean and tidy. If potted ornamental, you can choose more than five-year-old plants, the trunk retained about 30 cm high to cut up, the roots will be properly trimmed, leaving only the main roots, the pot is good; make use of its strong germination ability to re-send new branches, still cut off the lower part, leaving only the upper 3mur5 branches, into an umbrella shape. And control water and fertilizer, do not make the growth too prosperous, can be cultivated in a year, the following summer flower bud formation appropriate thinning of some buds, flowering large and beautiful. It is better to use seedlings on the pot, but it takes a long time and is generally cultivated in 4-5 years.
