Illustration of grafting technique of golden marbles
The reason why the golden billiard is called the golden billiard is that its fruit is golden yellow, oval, and the fruit is everlasting, so it is called the golden billiard. Although golden marbles bear fruit and have the scientific name of black persimmon, its fruit is inedible, its fruit is toxic and harmful to health, so golden marbles can only be seen, not eaten, and feel like a vase. It can only be used as a decoration.
Golden marbles are dioecious, so many people must have tried branch grafting or bud grafting but failed, of which there are certain skills. Today, I would like to share with you some tips on the grafting of golden marbles.
More than 70 of the piles collected in the market are male sons, there are very few primary and female piles, and only pile farmers with a sense of responsibility will tell the truth. Male and female golden marbles have been puzzling pile buyers all the time. With mature grafting technology, this problem has been effectively solved. Mature grafting sometimes has more advantages than the original hanging fruit, you can choose leaflets, good shape, winter evergreen leaves, large fruit, abundant fruit, moderate fruit handle length. If the late-ripe type is grafted for a long time, the ornamental value will be higher. The reason why golden marbles are rarely successful in branch grafting and bud grafting is not because branch grafting and bud grafting are not suitable for golden marble grafting, but there are some problems in the time and method of grafting, or mistakes.
When changing the crown, the golden marbles had better be grafted in early May, which is the best time. Here, take the pot-planted golden billiard pile as an example to introduce it in detail.
Keep 3-5 strong branches on the golden billiard post, keep the branches, cut off the rest of the branches that are not ready to be grafted from the base, reduce the strength of the retained branches, and retain only the 4cm-5cm at the base.
Then use a sharp cutter to split longitudinally along the center of the cross section, the depth of the cut is about 2cm, be careful not to cut too deep. The next step is to cut the stout branches on the female plants that have reached the age of hanging fruit, the thickness of which is similar to that of the grafted rootstock, preferably with terminal buds, with about 4-5 axillary buds on it, so that the success rate will be higher.
Then cut off the cortex on both sides of the base of the scion with a sterilized blade, and the cutting surface is about 2cm, which is similar to the split depth of the rootstock until the xylem is slightly exposed.
Then insert the wedge-shaped end of the cut scion base into the split of the rootstock, so that at least one side of the formation layer is aligned, and the rootstock joint can be bound with a binding band.
Finally, put on a transparent plastic bag, cover the whole scion, including the scion joint, and fasten the bag.
In this way, the grafting is basically more than half successful, and as long as a little attention is paid to the late care, the grafting is basically successful.
Grafting not only requires technology, the most important thing is to be patient, the grafting process is more time-consuming, everywhere have to be careful, patient, so that the success rate only increases.
