Friends who have planted sweet potatoes all know that sweet potatoes are a kind of plants with strong germination ability on the ground. In production and planting, they generally need to fight to avoid crowding on the ground, keep the branches and leaves completely photosynthetic, manufacture nutrition and ensure good growth. But even if the trestle is set up, it still needs to be pruned at all stages to maintain the best plant structure.

I. Thinning

After planting, when it grows to more than 1 meter, it is necessary to start selecting lateral branches. Generally, a main vine should leave 6 to 7 lateral branches, and then the others should be thinned, leaving behind generally staggered nodes on both sides, and also to leave strong and strong lateral branches. Weak branches, bad nodes should be removed, after the step-by-step branches should be kept strong, the higher you can stay some, but also removed a lot.

II. Pickling

When the main vine grows to 2 meters, it should be removed and not allowed to grow again. All the selected lateral branches grow to more than 1 meter to stop growing forcibly. Then the branches left later are all grown to the proper length to pick the core, constantly pick the core, develop lateral branches, inhibit the growth of the top.

III. Bud removal

The buds at the base of the main vine should be removed, the buds should not be sprouted, the lower feet should be avoided, and the ventilation should not increase the risk of disease. For clustered ducks, leave one or two strong buds and remove the others. This ensures that the strongest branches are drawn. For apical buds, consume nutrients, flourish in summer, and be thinned out.

IV. Leaf picking

Remove old, diseased or yellowed leaves at any time in summer to reduce consumption, ventilate and transmit light, and maintain photosynthesis utilization. But don't remove leaves near underground rhizomes, which provide shade. It prevents soil from drying out or losing water.

V. Cutting vines

For summer crazy growth of new shoots or some infected vines must be cut off in time, so as to prevent the spread of disease, but also to ensure that nutrients are mainly supplied to underground rhizomes. To ensure growth, the summer shoots on the ground are not retained, or part of the spring shoots are removed and replaced with summer shoots to maintain vitality, which can also ensure seed maturity.

Planting sweet potato, generally do not build a frame to plant far apart, pruning can not be less. Photosynthesis is much better if you put up a frame, but this pruning should also be implemented. Mainly pruned in summer, mainly to adjust the plant structure, to ensure the centralized supply of nutrients, effective benefit. Ensure the quality of expanded roots.
