In theory, strawberries are not suitable to be sown with seeds, because this will lead to the degradation of some advantages, and family planting may not care so much, so this article will take a look at the sowing methods of strawberry seeds. I hope you can get something from the article.

Strawberry seeds are small and must be fine when sowing. It is best to use seedling soil plus seedling tray, or seedling block plus seedling box, really unqualified friends can use sifted fine sand loam mixed with a part of fine humus soil into the flowerpot, sow seeds in the pot.

1. Strawberry seed treatment

1) soak the seeds in 60-70 ℃ warm water and keep stirring until the water temperature drops to about 25 ℃. After soaking for another 2-3 hours, remove and rub with hands until the seed coat is clean and shiny. Then rinse with clean water and cover with several layers of wet gauze.

2) sprouting under the condition of 25: 30 ℃. Soak the gauze with warm water three times a day (morning, noon and evening) to keep the seeds moist. The seeds can be sown after 60-70% of the seeds are exposed to white.

2. Preparation of seedling pot

It is appropriate to choose ceramic pots with a diameter of 20-30 cm in pots. The basin soil is selected with high humus content.

3. Sowing method

1) spray water before sowing, cover with sifted fine soil about 0.5 cm after sowing, cover the basin with plastic film, spray water with fine-eye spray pot every day to keep the soil moist. At the temperature of 25 ℃, seedlings can begin to emerge 15 days after sowing. When the seedlings have 2 true leaves, they can be divided into pots, and when they have 4 or 5 leaves, they can be planted in the field.

2) irrigate the border with small water before sowing, then rake the border surface with a rake, and then sow when the border seeps under water. The seed of strawberry is small, so it is better to sow it.

3) the suitable sowing rate is 2.5g to 4.5g per square meter. Immediately after sowing, spread the mulch soil on the border evenly. Cover 0.3 cm to 0.5 cm thick, shade with straw mats and scatter after finishing the seedlings.

4. Maintenance and management

If you have a greenhouse at home, you can move the strawberries to the greenhouse, which will be better. Strawberries are also easier to bear fruit. When the fruiting period of strawberries is over, you can move them out of the greenhouse and leave them outside for the winter. In a way, if strawberry plants are subjected to some frost, it will be more beneficial to increase yield in the coming year.

Strawberries are easy to grow and can be transplanted. Sometimes you may find that the plant has yellow leaves, but don't worry, just remove it. In winter, you can keep the yellow leaves until new leaves grow in the following spring, then remove the dead yellow leaves, and pay attention to watering, weeding, and killing insects.

Strawberries can also be planted in plant bags, but they must be watered evenly to prevent birds from pecking at strawberries and insect pests. The soil in the plant bag dries easily and needs to be checked frequently to make sure the soil is moist.
