Beauty of artistic conception: in the ancients, the so-called "plum wins with rhyme and height with height" means to talk about the bonsai of plum blossoms. Mr. Zhou Lianjuan loved plum blossoms all his life, and he paid great attention to the creation of artistic conception in making plum blossom bonsai. When he was alive, he created a pot of bonsai named "Gushan Flying Crane", which made people respect Lin Kui, a poet of the Song Dynasty, who was clean. Another example is his bonsai "Meiyue Picture", which naturally reminds people of the poem "sparse shadow, horizontal oblique water and shallow water, dark fragrance floating moon dusk".

Plum blossom bonsai beautiful, implicit artistic conception, but also through the title to draw long Dianqing, increase the charm of the work. Because the cultural connotation of plum blossom is very rich, the theme that can be used to conceive the theme of plum blossom bonsai is also quite extensive. Plum blossom bonsai is the charm of plum in nature and the artistic concentration of Gog. It conforms to nature and is a rare piece of art. So, how do plum blossoms reproduce? The following people introduce several common breeding methods or techniques of plum blossoms.

There are many methods of plum blossom propagation, and these commonly used methods are introduced as follows:

1. Grafting propagation

Grafting is the most commonly used method for breeding plum blossoms, and the survival rate is very high. Rootstocks can use peach (hairy peach, mountain peach), apricot and plum seedlings or peach and apricot roots. 1. Grafting in spring. Before sprouting in early spring, cutting grafting, subcutaneous grafting (larger rootstock), bud grafting (including abdominal grafting of long buds), splitting grafting and so on can be taken.

1) grafting in summer

Split grafting with leaves was carried out before the first shoot maturation and the second shoot germination. Split grafting is suitable for multi-variety grafting or high branch crown change, but it must be bagged to keep moisture and shade.

2) Autumn grafting

It is appropriate to use ventral grafting in winter, and it is best to use long small buds to seal ventral grafting. This method has the advantages of simple operation, good healing, high survival rate and not easy to be broken by wind. If the sap does not germinate in that year, when the sap begins to flow in the next spring, pick a small hole in the bud eye and the bud can germinate.

3) grafting in winter

The good method of root grafting in winter is to carefully dig out the new roots of peaches, apricots or hairy peaches (1 cm or more in diameter) during the winter dormancy period, retain the fibrous roots as far as possible, and then cut them into small segments 10-15 cm long. The coarse ones are cut and subcutaneously connected, and the thin ones (about 1 cm in diameter) are split, then planted into the leeward and sunny sandy loam, covered with soil to cover the binding place and watered through. The management is extensive in winter and can germinate in the following spring. This method of grafting germinates early and grows fast. The new grafted plant blossoms after 1-2 years.

2. Cuttage seedling

The operation of cutting propagation of plum blossom is simple, and the cuttage of plum blossom is better in November. After soaking the cuttings, the survival rate was improved, and it could also promote the rooting of the varieties which were difficult to root. Choose one-year-old 10 cm to 12 cm long sturdy branches as cuttings, when cutting, most of the branches will be buried in the soil, leaving only two or three centimeters on the soil surface, and leaving a bud outside. It is required that the soil quality of the cutting land is loose and the drainage is good. The cuttings are watered once and covered with plastic film, which can maintain a small range of temperature and humidity and improve the survival rate of cuttings. after survival in the next year, it is gradually ventilated to adapt to the environment, and finally the film is removed. The plants can be fixed and transplanted in the spring of the third year.

3. Striping propagation

From February to March, select the 1-3-year growing branch, dig a deep trench next to the mother plant, cut 3 knives shallowly below the bend of the branch, then cover the soil, press a brick on top, root and cut off the mother body. High pressure can be used to select appropriate branches on the mother tree in the mildew and rainy season, wrap some mixed soil with plastic film, tie tightly at both ends and maintain the temperature. After a month of examination, those who have taken root can cut off all the openings under the pressing strip, reaching to the middle, and then all cut off from the mother in 20-40 days and moved to the field for cultivation.

3. Sowing and reproduction

The seeds were sown directly. Attention must be paid to collecting fully ripe fruit from fine mother plants with large fruit and small seed. Generally, it is better to sow in autumn, and the specific time can be carried out in late September. Pour enough water and cover with fine soil or sand. When the seedlings grow to 10 cm to 15 cm in the spring of the following year, they can be transplanted from the seedbed. If the seeds are sown and propagated in spring, the seeds should be stored with wet sand after they are washed and dried, and the strips should be taken out for sowing in early spring. Plum trees propagated with seeds can withstand drought. It grows vigorously and is suitable for planting on the hillside. However, the plum trees bred by this method are genetically unstable and have great variation.
