Plum blossom is usually propagated by grafting, because the seedlings are often not easy to transmit the good characters of the female parent, and the grafting is divided into cutting and bud grafting. We have talked about plum blossom bud grafting technology before, this article will talk about the plum blossom cutting seedling method!

Needless to say, as usual, the scion is cut forward two slopes about 1 mm below the bottom bud, with a length of about 1.5 cm.

Euphorbia angustifolia also chooses semi-lignified new branches of the year, leaving 5 to 6 buds short at the base. I am combined with the short section, that is, the grafting of another variety is carried out for the second time on the basis of the grafting at the beginning of spring.

Features:

1. If there are no leaves in the scion, the leaves will be retained, and the top of the scion should be slanted upward by two millimeters above the bud. The purpose is to make it easy to climb the incision at the top of the oblique cutting surface by hand.

2. The leaves are retained in order to continue to produce nutrition, and at the same time, short cuts also promote the sprouting of secondary buds. In addition, when bagging, wrap the leaves with two or three pieces and lock up the water. Because of the transpiration of leaves, the air humidity is saturated to ensure that the scion does not lose water and has a shading effect at the same time.

3. The scion also needs to be wrapped first, then bagged, and when bagging, wrap the leaves with two or three pieces.

Methods / steps:

1. Cut off the rootstock that is more than one or two years old, and cut off the upper part of the rootstock at the end of March (in the cold room) or in early April (in the open field) at a distance of 5cm from the ground.

2. The scion uses annual sturdy branches, cut and grow 5cm, leaving at least 3 buds. The outer side of the lowest bud is obliquely cut into a duck bill, and a 3 cm long joint is opened on one side of the rootstock.

3. Insert the scion into the cut of the rootstock to form a close combination, then tie it with plastic film tape or fasten it with polyester tape.

4. Finally, the scion is covered with a small plastic bag, and the mouth of the bag is tied below the interface, which can be checked frequently through the film. After survival, remove the bindings. With the growth of buds, rootstock buds also germinate and should be smeared as soon as possible.
