According to the emergency center, the Kinmen epidemic Prevention Center received notification from the Jinma Penghu Branch of the Maritime Patrol on June 4 and 5, and found a pig carcass on the shore of Cihu Triangle Castle in Jinning Township and Shangyi Beach in Jinhu Town, respectively. The epidemic prevention station went to the scene to collect the relevant inspection bodies, burned and buried the pig carcasses on the spot, and sent the inspection to the animal health station for inspection. The nucleic acid of African classical swine fever virus was detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The response center added that the site where the dead pigs were found had been thoroughly disinfected by the Kinmen epidemic Prevention Institute. There were four pig farms within a radius of 3 km of the two sites. After clinical examination by veterinary officers of the public office, they were in good health and there were no abnormal conditions. On-site mobile control and sampling monitoring were carried out. There are two pig farms with a total of 768 pigs within 3 kilometers of the pig carcass site on the 4th, and there are also two pig farms around the pig carcass site on the 5th, raising a total of 787 pigs.

As for the ban on foreign shipments for at least one week, the response Center said that in order to ensure the overall safety of the industry, the export of Jinmen County pigs and their products to Taiwan and other outlying islands will be suspended for at least one week, but the dried pork and dried pork produced by seven companies (Liangjin, Gaokeng, Lao Farm, Qiao'an Ranch, Master Hong, Yilai Lai Shun, Jinjia Wang) can still be exported to Taiwan and other outlying islands.
