Phyllostachys pubescens likes to grow in a warm and humid environment and can be propagated by cutting, which can also be cut in water and soil. In the previous article "how to cultivate rich bamboo, it is easy to grow roots without yellow leaves", the editor illustrated the method of water planting and cultivation of rich bamboo. Today, I will talk about the method of soil planting of rich bamboo.

1. Cutting time

The soil cutting of Phyllostachys pubescens should be carried out from late January to mid-late February, and it can be cut directly in the open field, and the root system can germinate after 1 month. Of course, it is also suitable for cutting in late March, and with the gradual warming of the temperature, as long as the humidity is suitable, it can take root 1-2 weeks after planting, and the survival rate is very high.

2. Branch treatment

For the cuttings of Fugui bamboo, take most of the leafless stems as cuttings, the length should be 5-10 cm, it is recommended to keep more than 3 nodes, the base is cut into an oblique mouth, and then the wound section is stained with rooting water.

3. Pick flowerpots

As Fugui bamboo likes loose and breathable soil, it is recommended to choose clay basin or purple sand basin, or even use plastic basin, as long as the bottom of the basin makes a good drain.

4. Allocation of soil

Fugui bamboo likes rich and loose sandy loam, which can be prepared according to the ratio of 1 sand + 4 vegetable garden soil + 5 rotten leaf soil, and then some broken egg shells can be put into the soil as base fertilizer.

5. Cutting into the pot

Insert the prepared cuttings directly into the soil flowerpot, but it is not enough except for rooting water. It is recommended to apply some plant ash or sulfur powder to the cut section. After inserting, prevent the flowerpot from being maintained in the semi-shade and pay attention to spraying water properly to achieve the purpose of moisturizing. After the new leaves germinate, you can put them in a place that can accept astigmatism for maintenance.

6. Maintenance and management

Pay attention to control the light and temperature in the process of maintenance, keep warm below 5 °C in winter, increase the light appropriately, if the long-term lack of light will cause the leaves to lose their luster; usually water once every 3-5 days, spray more foliar water to protect moisture; apply thin nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium water and fertilizer every half a month; control water and fertilizer in winter.
