What kind of water is better for calamus bonsai?
Because they like the moist growth environment, the wild calamus in nature grows in mountain streams or lakes, which is more conducive to absorbing water. However, the home calamus bonsai can not get water from nature like the wild calamus, so it has to be replenished artificially. However, many potted people are not standard in the choice of water, so they will find all kinds of problems in the plant after being maintained for a period of time. So, what kind of water is used to water the calamus bonsai?
As we all know, there are many kinds of watering plants, such as Rain Water, springs, tap water, streams, rivers, lakes and so on, but not all water is suitable for the growth of calamus. Then what kind of water is more suitable for raising calamus? There are three main indicators:
1. Soft water
Because of the high salt content in hard water, it is not conducive to plant growth to use it to raise calamus for a long time, but soft water is more suitable for calamus growth, so it is recommended to use soft water to cultivate calamus.
2. Ph value
Acorus calamus is suitable to choose neutral or acidic water, so there are certain requirements for the PH value of water quality. Even weakly alkaline mineral water is not suitable for raising calamus.
3. Cleanliness
Acorus calamus is a kind of plant that likes a clean environment, and it naturally requires a very clean water source. No matter what kind of material pollution the water source is, it is not recommended to use it to raise calamus, otherwise it will cause problems.
Through the analysis of the above three indicators, the clean Rain Water is more suitable for raising calamus, and the well water is also very good, but it is difficult to say if it is lake water. Because the lake water is more alkaline or more or less there are some pollutants, so it should be used with caution or not.
So, can we use the most commonly used tap water to raise calamus? Tap water is mostly neutral water, because the water has a certain amount of carbon dioxide, so it is more acidic. It can be seen that it is also very good to use it to raise calamus. However, it should be noted that as the tap water is often disinfected, it must be left at rest for 2 days before use. In addition, overnight boiled water is also a very good choice.

How to water the bonsai of calamus
Because calamus likes to be wet, it is easier for plants growing in the wild to get water, while the bonsai of calamus at home can not be obtained from nature as in the wild, so artificial watering has naturally become a work that needs to be done almost every day. Many basin friends can not raise their own calamus well, just because they are often not watered properly.
