Huang Shengyu used to work in purchasing auto parts, but when his career was stable, he saw the decline of the domestic white meat chicken industry, so he wholeheartedly wanted to go back home to help his father persist in raising chickens for most of his life. However, when he was raised by a chicken, he had little experience of raising chickens on his own. with confidence, he went everywhere to study by himself and ask experts, instead of following his father's rule of thumb, he "formulized" raising chickens according to the script. "for example, textbooks record the temperature to be fixed at all stages, and chickens that grow feathers need to raise the temperature." For example, Huang Sheng-Yu said that his father was judged by the rules of experience accumulated over the years, while he chose to copy textbook knowledge. different ideas between father and son naturally lead to friction, but he also raised a group of chickens that even his father had to praise. However, after that, the education rate fell, and Huang Shengyu thought hard and turned to his peers to learn from the classics. it was only when he realized that the "eyebrow corners" of his predecessors were all his father's advice to him.
He explained that book knowledge should be a "principle" and should be adjusted according to the scene. After all, the details of the configuration and breeding environment of each chicken house are very different, and then the situation of chickens will be affected. "in terms of temperature, the temperature varies from season to season, different weather, and different times of the day, but textbooks don't tell you that-at this point, experience is very important, so go in and see if there are any anomalies." As soon as he enters the henhouse, he has to observe that if all the chickens are doing the same thing, they must be adjusted immediately. "for example, if they are all drinking water, it may be too hot. Some are running, some are eating feed, some are drinking water, this is normal. " Huang Shengyu stressed that one day will go through day and night, and one year will go through four seasons, and the environment and temperature will be different from moment to moment. Repeatedly testing chicken farmers' keen observation of chickens and the breeding environment is also the key for chicken farmers to acquire actual combat power.
In the past, Huang Shengyu managed the livestock farm according to his own ideas and the logic in the book, but at that time he realized in frustration that book knowledge could not win the world in one fell swoop, and whether he could adapt to the times and quote old experience was the key to raising. After the most important concept change, he began to use ventilation, temperature, feed nutrition and other management knowledge, and then combined with his father's on-site experience to synthesize his own feeding principles. It was only after overcoming this low tide that he was able to survive the hardships of a novice on the road and become more and more down-to-earth.

But raising good chickens is not enough. Huang Shengyu points out that the proportion of imported chicken is increasing year by year, and low-priced meat products continue to carve up the market, while there are large domestic manufacturers, and it is more difficult for small farmers to have their own brands, so they often choose to work with big manufacturers to survive. Therefore, for him, after raising high-quality white broilers, he has to further think about how to let more people see the value of carefully raised white broilers in order to promote the industry. Huang Shengyu further explained that in order to compete with imported chicken, domestic manufacturers actively integrate the upstream and downstream industrial chains, not only providing chicken farmers' feed and chickens, but also sending the chickens directly to electric slaughter and onto the channel after a certain number of days.
In this way, such a "standardized" feeding model, resulting in the inability to support the shape of chicken farmers is the same as "contract manufacturing", there is no way to choose and require the quality of chickens. Coupled with price-cutting competition among the same industry, the profits of chicken farmers are getting lower and lower. "A chicken can't even earn ten yuan." Many people have no choice but to expand their factories and move towards scale in order to make small profits and quick turnover. "but there is another problem with people scrambling to raise them, that is, the prices of chickens and feed are getting higher and higher, resulting in an increase in the cost of raising."
As a result, farmers' profits have hit rock bottom, which makes the industry show a vicious circle. In this cycle, most people still pursue low prices in order to win over imported meat, but Huang Shengyu asks himself, "the tide of globalization cannot be stopped. If cheaper imported chicken comes, what should we do?" He knows that the strategy of price-cutting competition is not a long-term solution, so he is no longer willing to stick to it in the way of small profits and quick turnover, and decides to do the opposite-- independent brands, hoping to improve his competitiveness and breeding skills through the efforts and thinking of the new generation. break the deadlock first.
Create an exclusive brand and divide the market by quality.
"at that time, when we wanted to be a brand, some people were not optimistic about it and said directly,'if all the big factories are occupied and the prices are being cut down, you are bound to fail!'" However, Huang Shengyu still has the courage to jump out of the contract mode and set up Yuzheng Food Co., Ltd., because he has accumulated many years of breeding experience, summed up consumers' demand for food safety, and focused the core of the brand on the production of "safe" chicken. Hope to open up a new route that can be self-reliant and have its own positioning. With the slogan of "safety", the action must be in place. Huang Shengyu said with a smile, "there are two water pipes here, one for my family and the other for chickens, so we drink the same water!"
He also added probiotics to feed and herbs to drinking water, adopted a two-pronged approach, suppressed bad bacteria with good bacteria, and even won the label of "functional feed." he really won the credibility of the verification to win the trust of consumers. " Huang Huiru added. In addition to eating to strengthen the physique of chickens and enhance their immunity, he also started with environmental equipment. The livestock farm is a closed negative pressure chicken house with water curtain, which can be ventilated regularly to control the temperature. Huang Huiru said, "because we not only follow the brand, but also connect with this piece of land." During the ten years of returning home, Huang Shengyu and Huang Huiru worked hand in hand to not only inherit the family fortune, but also challenge to find a new way, and won the Model Peasant Award in 2017. He recalls with a smile that he couldn't help being frustrated when he didn't win the "Shennong Award" in Taiwan's agricultural industry. He and Huang Huiru said frankly that the Model Peasant Award is like an invisible pressure on them to remember to take a step forward. "I still remember what the judges said at that time, not only for their own good, but also to become an indicator to lead the industry, so that everyone can do well together." On the way to the top, they had a way forward. "therefore, in the past two years, we have begun to plan an electric slaughtering, cutting and packaging plant."
According to Huang Shengyu's analysis, with his own factory, from raising to shipping, he will no longer be in the hands of others, and will be able to better check the quality and safety, and raise the standard for the spirit of "safety and traceability" echoed by them all the way. "at the same time, we can also help other farmers enter production and marketing resumes and improve the quality of chicken." "many farmers also want to take the brand, but they are stuck in the back-end market and don't know how to sell it."
Huang Huiru explained that they can guide chicken farmers in the front end to introduce relevant government policies, such as production and marketing resumes, and control the feeding quality at the same time; after consolidating the quality, the internal factory of the company will complete the electric slaughtering and follow-up work, and assist in the end market sales work. "I believe that such a breakthrough will become an indicator factory for Taiwan's white broiler industry, and it will also be a way to lead the industry forward." Huang Shengyu hopes that their strength will enable more prohibitive and wait-and-see chicken farmers to grow together without worries and become a positive energy for the white broiler industry.
