Rubber tree is a very good foliage plant, which can not only absorb dust to purify the air, but also has high ornamental value and can be planted in indoor pot. And the reproduction of this plant is also very simple, even a small leaf may successfully reproduce into an adult tree with strong growth and high ornamental value. So how do rubber trees propagate through leaf cuttings?

The leaf cutting method of rubber tree is very simple. The following editor will share with you a diagram of the process of rubber tree leaf cutting:

1. Select leaves

Although the petiole of a rubber tree can grow adventitious roots, it does not necessarily sprout adventitious buds, and leaves without adventitious buds cannot grow into new individual plants. When we choose cutting leaves, we must choose leaves with small buds in the petiole. Although the number of these leaves is small and not easy to find, they are better than those that cannot grow new plants.

2. Treated leaves

After selecting the leaves, we need to prune the selected leaves properly. Because the leaves are too large, it is easy to consume too much nutrients and water, thus affecting the rooting effect of leaves. Therefore, before we use the leaves for cutting, it is recommended that half of the leaves be cut from top to bottom, and then put them in a cool place, and the leaves can be cut after the wound has dried.

3. Leaf insertion process

First of all, prepare a loose, breathable and well-drained slotting machine, and sand is recommended. If you want to shorten the time it takes for leaves to take root, you can buy special drugs on the market, which can take root within an hour at the earliest. Next, insert the base of the leaf into the soft sand.

4. Rooting of leaves

As long as various conditions are met, the leaf insertion efficiency of rubber trees is very high. Because the branches and leaves of rubber trees are very easy to sprout roots, of course, different varieties have some differences in the speed and time of rooting, but the difference is not significant.

Before long, we can select some leaves with strong growth and buds from the cutter and transplant them into pots, and they can grow up alone.
