Lily bamboo, also known as short-leaf bamboo banana, is a very high-grade foliage plant, the leaf color is green and shiny, very beautiful, it is planted as a potted plant in many places. The propagation of lily bamboo is mostly carried out by cutting, so how to cut potted lily bamboo? Next, the editor will talk about the cutting method of potted lily bamboo.

1. Cutting time

Like most cutting plants, the cutting of lily bamboo is mostly carried out in spring, because spring is the season when everything recovers, and plants often wake up from a deep sleep and begin to germinate, so in this season, the survival rate is higher, and the plant is more conducive to germination and growth. The best time for lily bamboo cutting is from March to May every spring, so don't miss it.

Second, prepare the insert

The cuttings of lily bamboo should choose the sturdy branches of the same year, and the more mature the better, because the cuttings are more conducive to survival. Usually, branches about 8-10 cm in length are cut from the mother plant as cuttings, and 3-4 buds are retained on each cutting. if relatively delicate branches are used as cuttings, it is recommended to keep 3-4 leaves on each twig.

Third, prepare the bed soil

Because lily bamboo likes the growth environment of loose ventilation and good drainage, it is recommended to use disinfected peat soil or sandy culture soil as substrate. However, on this basis, we can further improve and enrich the soil quality. It is suggested that 6 parts of garden soil, 4 parts of peat soil and 1 part of poultry manure such as chicken manure should be mixed and retted, which can be used after about half a year after they are fully mature. The effect is very good.

IV. Cutting process

First of all, the prepared culture soil will be loaded into the flowerpot as a cutter, at the same time, let the cutter maintain a certain humidity, moderate dry and wet suitable for cutting. Then use the moderate-sized branches to poke out the corresponding holes where the cuttings are needed in the basin, and then insert the cuttings directly into the cutting bed. After all the cuttings have been inserted, put the whole flowerpot in an environment that can receive astigmatism for maintenance and management, or put it directly outside, but add 80% sunshade net for it, and then water it once.

V. maintenance and management

After the completion of cutting, the seedling management is mainly the management of water. It is recommended to use a sprinkler to spray water 1-2 times a day in the morning and evening, each time about 3-5 minutes, so as to ensure that the cuttings fully infiltrate into the water, provide adequate water supply for the cuttings, adhere to about 1 month, the cuttings can take root.
