Buttercup is a perennial herbaceous flower plant, not only single, but also double, but also rich and colorful. In addition to bulbous planting, seed sowing can also be used to breed young plants. So, when will buttercups be sown?

Buttercup is generally sown and propagated in October every spring, and the optimum temperature for seed germination is between 10 and 15 ℃. However, in order to facilitate management, but also to improve the budding rate, we usually use seed boxes for sowing and breeding. So, how to sow buttercups? The sowing process is as follows:

1. Before sowing, use small stones or broken tiles at the bottom of the box as a drainage layer, then spread a layer of coarse sand on top of the drainage layer, with a thickness of about 1-2 cm; then cover the pre-prepared sowing soil until it is about 2-3 cm from the mouth of the box; finally, use a tool to flatten the soil and then gently compact it.

2. Sow the prepared buttercup seeds on the culture soil and cover them with a thin layer of fine soil until the seeded seeds are completely covered. Next, the newly covered fine soil is gently compacted with a tool, and finally the seed box is soaked in water with a moderate depth, so that the water gradually soaks the cultivated soil through the drain at the bottom of the box.

3. Take a sunshade net, cover the box mouth, and then move the seed box to a cool and ventilated place that can avoid rain for maintenance and management. During this period, attention should be paid to keeping the basin soil in a moist state, and the environmental temperature should also be kept at its best and suitable germination temperature, that is, 10-15 ℃. If nothing happens, the seeds will sprout in about 2 weeks.

4. After the seedlings have grown in October, we need to move the seed box to a place where we can receive light normally. If it is gloomy and cold or enters the cooling season, we should remove the sunshade net in time and replace it with plastic film to cover the mouth of the box, which can not only keep warm, but also reduce water evaporation.
