Breeding method of potted hibiscus flower
Hibiscus, which is often called hibiscus and hibiscus flower, is a kind of large and beautiful flower plant, and it is colorful when it blooms. And when hibiscus blossoms, beautiful flowers, such as clouds, are the city flowers of Chengdu, which are not only widely used in landscaping, street trees, etc., but also can be dwarfed into family potted plants for cultivation, which also has a very high ornamental value.
Not only that, the seedlings of hibiscus flowers are also relatively easy to cultivate, while the seedlings of potted hibiscus flowers can be propagated by sowing, cutting, ramet and so on. Next, the editor will share with you the breeding methods of potted hibiscus flowers.
I. sowing method
The process of sowing and propagation of hibiscus flower is generally carried out in spring. First of all, we need to pick and receive the fully mature hibiscus seeds after the autumn of the previous year, then store them in a cool and ventilated place, and then take them out for sowing the following spring.
Because the seeds of hibiscus flowers are relatively small, they are generally mixed with fine soil when sowing, and then sowed together with fine soil. And the seedbed soil used for sowing is also very small. After sowing the seeds, cover the culture soil and spray water in time to keep the seedbed with appropriate humidity.
If it goes well, it will usually sprout and emerge after 1 month, and it can be used as a potted seedling for pot transplanting in the spring of the following year. During the seedling raising period, in addition to the management of light and temperature, water and fertilizer, it is also necessary to do a good job in the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests in time, especially after planting in the pot, the means of maintenance and management are more important.
2. Cutting method
For the propagation of potted flower plants, most plants can propagate seedlings by cutting, and so can hibiscus flowers. However, the cutting of hibiscus flower is generally carried out during the period of February to March in spring.
The cutting bed for cutting hibiscus flowers can use wet sandy loam, or even clean and moist river sand; the cuttings are 1-2-year-old strong branches with a length of 10-15 cm. But before cutting, it is best to soak the cutting end in potassium permanganate diluent for half an hour to sterilize and disinfect.
The cuttage of hibiscus flower is relatively simple, and the prepared cuttings can be inserted directly into the cutter. The insertion depth of the original cuttings should be kept at 2 + 3 of the cuttings. After the cuttings are finished and watered, they should be covered with plastic film in time to keep warm and moisturize and prevent excessive evaporation of water. During this period, if the humidity is not enough, but also uncover the spray without touching, if it goes well, it will take about 30 days for the item to take root and germinate.
Third, split-plant method
Many flowers and plants are also adapted to use ramet to obtain potted seedlings, this method is also suitable for hibiscus potted plants. However, the process of ramet propagation of hibiscus flowers usually begins before budding in early spring. Because the hibiscus seedlings are separated from the mother plant at this time node, it is easier to survive after transplanting in the pot.
In early spring, the mother plant of hibiscus with strong growth and vigorous tillering was excavated, and then it was divided into several seedlings by tools, which could be planted in pots after disinfection and sterilization of the wound.
For the above three kinds of seedling reproduction, are more suitable for the propagation of hibiscus flowers, we can choose the appropriate breeding methods according to their own actual needs. As a family potted plant, cuttage is generally used to breed hibiscus potted seedlings, because this method is simple and practical, and the survival rate is high. Therefore, it is worth popularizing and applying.
