The method of softwood cutting of Prunus mume
Potted triangular plum has a very high ornamental value, and cuttings are generally used to breed young plants. However, both hardwood cuttings and tender wood cuttings can be used in the cuttage of Prunus mume. In the previous article, the editor shared the hardwood cutting technology of Triangle Plum. Today, the editor continues to share with you the softwood cutting method of Triangle Plum.
Triangular plum is not only a wide variety, but also flowering green, with the characteristics of drought and high temperature, so it is always placed in the balcony and other places with sufficient light for maintenance and management. The cuttage propagation of Prunus mume has a high survival rate, so we generally adopt the means of cutting to propagate.
1. Cutting time
The cutting of triangular plum is generally carried out in spring, of course, it can also be carried out in summer and autumn, or even in winter. As long as the temperature environment is suitable, cutting propagation can be carried out all the year round, but the effect of cutting in spring is the best.
Prepare for cuttings
Because of the sharp thorns on the triangular plum branches, it is generally necessary to wear gloves to cut the branches, but still need to be careful not to stab the skin. As for the cuttings used for tender cuttings, generally cut the sunny branches, but do not cut the branches that have just come out too young, it is better to use semi-lignified branches as cuttings.
Third, cuttings treatment
In order to improve the survival rate of cuttings and accelerate the speed of rooting and sprouting of cuttings, it is suggested to prepare some rooting powder or rooting water in advance. If you use rooting powder, you can directly stick rooting powder on one end of the cuttage; if you use rooting water, you can put the end of the cuttage into it and soak it. In this way, the germination ability of branches can be well improved, so as to achieve rapid rooting.
IV. Preparation of matrix
After preparing the flowerpot, we also need to prepare the cutting substrate in advance, the original generally requires that the substrate is loose and permeable, and the water permeability is good. Use more clean and suitable, vermiculite, perlite, peat soil, or even plain sand. If you feel that there are too many choices and do not know how to start, then it is recommended to use plain sand and perlite.
5. Cutting process
First of all, make the drainage layer at the bottom of the basin, and then pour the cutting substrate into the basin, and carefully bury the cuttings into the cutting substrate, exposing only the leaves on the cuttings. However, if you insert multiple branches, you should pay attention to keep the distance between the cuttings, especially not too dense, and the density should be moderate.
After the cuttage is finished, in order to moisturize, you can cover the basin with a layer of plastic film, and pay attention to leaving holes in the film to breathe. Finally, the flowerpot will be placed in a place out of direct sunlight for maintenance and management, and pay attention to spray water on the plastic film to maintain moisture at an appropriate time.
VI. Maintenance and management
Generally, after cuttage, the plastic film can be pulled apart for about a week, so that the triangular plum cuttings can breathe the fresh air of the outside world. At the same time, pay attention to observe the dry and wet state of the basin soil, you can supply water as appropriate, at the same time, you can also spray moisturizing to the cutting seedlings, and then cover the plastic film. Usually after a month, we can remove the plastic film, because at this time the triangular plum cuttings have survived. And then normal maintenance management can be restored.

Can triangular plum be planted with water?-the method of cuttage propagation of triangular plum
The propagation process of Prunus mume is very simple and easy to survive, mainly by means of cutting to breed young plants. But cuttage can be either hardwood cuttage or softwood cuttage, and the editor has shared its methods for you in previous articles. And many flowers and plants can reproduce their young plants by water insertion.

Triangular plum cuttings note
Potted Bougainvillea has high ornamental value, especially at flowering stage. In order to obtain high-quality potted seedlings, we generally adopt cuttage to breed young plants. Although the cutting method and process of Bougainvillea triangularis are relatively simple, there are still some matters needing attention.
