Triangular plum, also known as leaf flower, is a relatively heat-resistant flower plant, but the cold tolerance of this plant is relatively poor. However, the flowering period of triangular plum is very long, as long as sufficient light, suitable temperature, proper water and fertilizer, triangular plum can even blossom in four seasons.

In addition, triangular plum is not only easy to raise, but also very easy to breed, usually we only need to take a section of strong branches to easily cut it alive, and then scientific maintenance and management, will soon be able to grow a full pot. But cutting triangular plum needs to choose an appropriate time, usually spring and autumn is the best choice.

Cutting triangular plum in spring and autumn is mainly due to suitable temperature, appropriate light intensity and good climate and humidity, so it is not easy to appear root rot and black rot after cutting, so the survival rate is relatively high. As long as we can pay attention to the cutting time and method of Prunus mume, it can take root and sprout in 1 month after cutting.

1. Cutting time

The cutting season of triangular plum is best chosen in spring or autumn, but what kind of weather is it? Generally, it is better to choose cloudy or sunny mornings. Because in such a weather environment, the moisture in the cuttings is the most abundant, the wound heals quickly, and the rooting ability is strong, so it is easier to survive after cutting.

2. Selection of cuttings

The triangulated plum branches used to make cuttings must be selected to form semi-lignified robust branches, then cut to a length of about 10 centimeters, and 1-2 pairs of leaves can be retained on each cuttage. Cut a few more cuttings at a time and put them together.

Third, cutting medium

Triangle plum cuttage is very easy to survive, the original generally choose to use coarse sand or vermiculite as the medium. Because the matrix is mainly clean, permeable and not prone to stagnant water, it can prevent cuttings from rotting to a large extent.

IV. Cutting process

Insert the cuttings directly into the substrate with a depth of about 3 cm. Of course, we can also carry out hydroponic culture, that is, put the cuttings into a cup of water and change the water every 3 days. When the cuttings grow out of white roots, they will be transplanted into peat soil to continue to cultivate.

Fifth, scientific watering

Whether it is the method of cutting directly in the substrate or the method of water cutting and then soil culture, it is recommended to use a spray pot to water the basin every day in the process of cultivation. Usually keep the medium with appropriate humidity, generally let the medium in a wet state, there can be no stagnant water.

But it should be noted that just after the cutting is finished, it should be placed in a cool place for maintenance, there can be no direct light, otherwise it may cause rot at the base of cuttings due to high temperature and humidity. Generally careful maintenance of about half a month or so can see cuttings taking root and sprouting. When the cuttings grow up a little bit and have the ability to grow independently, we will transplant them into the flowerpot for maintenance.

And just transplanting also need to put the pot in a cool place to slow down the seedlings, wait for the seedlings to take the pot smoothly and then provide normal light and water and fertilizer for them. After all, triangular plum is a tropical plant, which requires plenty of light and more fertilizer during the growing period. Some thin fertilizer and water with a high proportion of nitrogen and phosphorus can be applied in advance, and some phosphorus and potassium fertilizer can be applied before flowering.
