Nowadays, many families like to grow white palms in potted plants. However, for ordinary family potted users, the breeding method of white palm is not available, and the most commonly used method is split-plant breeding. The ramet propagation of white palm is that when the mother plant grows thickly in the flowerpot and has filled the whole space in the pot and needs to change the pot, the plant is divided into several plants, and then put into different flowerpots.

Ramet is one of the most commonly used propagation methods in family potted plants, which has the characteristics of high survival rate. However, in the process of mass production in the planting base, the way of cloning in test tube is generally adopted to obtain potted plantlets. Therefore, the cloned seedlings look very neat.

However, if white palm is bred in the family, it is often not easy to use cloning seedlings to obtain white palm seedlings because of incomplete facilities and difficult operation. Therefore, the family potted white palm, usually take the way of ramet to obtain potted seedlings.

White palm must not be pulled alive when ramet, otherwise it is easy to hurt the root system of the plant and affect the survival of the pot. Instead, it needs to be separated along the gap naturally separated from the plant, so as to cause the least damage to the plant, so as to achieve the effect of changing from one pot to more than one basin. So, specifically, how to split the white palm? What are the precautions?

First, the time of plant division

Because white palm is a tropical plant, it prefers warm or even hotter growing environment. Therefore, the separation of white palm should be carried out from May to June. During this period, not only the plant has high activity and good growth, but also it is easier to survive after the ramet is put on the pot.

2. Prepare basin soil

The soil used for planting white palm requires a high degree of looseness and good permeability, and the original must not use relatively clayey soil. It can usually be cultivated with a mixture of peat soil, rotten leaf soil and perlite, and some flower fertilizer can be added as base fertilizer.

3. Ramet process

First of all, we need to choose a pot of white palm with dense growth, then take it out of the basin and shake off the persistent soil adhered to the root. Then we divide the root and the plant into several parts according to the gap between the roots to ensure that each white palm isolated has a root and stem. Then put the white palms of these ramets on the pot and plant them in the flowerpot.

Note:

1. If the family potted white palm is divided into two or three plants, it is more appropriate to divide the mother plant into 2-3 plants. Because if there are too many ramets, the root system at the lower end of each white palm is often less, and it is not easy to take the basin to survive.

2. In the process of ramet, we must divide it according to the gap between the root and stem of the plant, that is, the connecting part, and try not to use a knife without using a knife, and we need to minimize the damage to the plant as far as possible.

3. After putting the white palm out of the ramet into the pot respectively, put it in a cool and ventilated place to slow the seedling, do not rush to let it receive light, especially the direct light, otherwise it will affect the survival of the plant.
