Moreover, as long as it is properly maintained and managed, high-quality potted seedlings can also be obtained, and at the same time, it can inherit the characteristics of excellent varieties of parent plants. More importantly, cuttings are relatively convenient and easy to operate, and the reproductive efficiency is also very high.

In the above article, Xiaobian talked about how plum cuttings can survive. Moreover, if properly maintained and managed, potted seedlings of high quality can also be obtained, and at the same time, they can inherit the characteristics of superior varieties of mother plants. More importantly, cuttings are also relatively convenient and easy, and the propagation efficiency is also very high, which is suitable for both family user cuttings and mass production.

Plum cuttings are actually a way or form of cuttage methods, as long as the operation method is correct, we can easily obtain seedlings suitable for potted plants. So, specifically, how do plum blossoms cut branches? Today, Xiaobian mainly shares with you the planting method of plum cuttings, hoping to help you.

1. Cutting time

Plum hardwood cuttings, must be selected in a suitable period of time, so as to improve the survival rate of cuttings. For plum blossoms, it is generally most appropriate to carry out softwood cuttings in April and May in spring, because cutting is carried out too early or too late, and the survival rate is often not very high. Therefore, if we want to adopt the means of shoot cuttings to propagate plum blossoms, we must take this time as the best time.

II. Preparation of cuttings

Plum shoots cutting is from the mother plant cut semi-lignified healthy branches as cuttings, original such cuttings its endogenous auxin is particularly high, cell division ability is very strong, so it is easy to take root after cutting survival. However, after cutting the cuttings to a length of 5-7 cm, it is best to wrap them in a clean wet towel to keep them moist. At the same time, it is required to bring more than 2 axillary buds on each root cutting, and it is also necessary to expose the leaves, which can promote rooting and survive as soon as possible.

III. Cutting treatment

In order to promote the rooting and survival of cuttings, we can use some hormone drugs to assist. For example, indolebutyric acid, naphthylacetic acid and other drugs, but the two mixed use, the effect will be higher. Dilute the two, add a small amount of ribavirin or bleaching powder, stir well and use to soak the lower part of the cuttings. However, the soaking time should not be too long, only 3 seconds can be used, and the prepared drug solution is best used up on the same day to avoid waste of resources.

IV. Cuttage substrate

Since we use young shoots for cuttings, we recommend a 3:1 mixture of coconut chaff and medium-sized perlite. Then soak in water for about 1 week, and then adjust the pH value to between 6 and 7. Or we can use peat soil directly as cutting substrate. Then use Bisumi to disinfect the cuttage substrate, and then put it into the hole plate for later use.

V. Cutting process

After all the preparation work is ready, insert the cuttings into the substrate of the tray respectively. The insertion depth is preferably 2 cm, because too deep or too shallow insertion will affect the rooting of the cuttings. Attention should be paid to properly controlling the spacing of cuttings to avoid over-dense insertion and overlapping or covering of leaves on cuttings, thus affecting photosynthesis.

VI. Conservation management

After the cuttings are completed, we need to add spraying devices for them, or artificially spray them appropriately according to weather changes and humidity changes to keep moisture, and also need to build 70% shade nets. Generally, it is better to keep the air humidity at about 90%. As long as we carefully care, the general cuttings can take root after 10 days. The frequency of spraying can be gradually reduced in the later stage, and it can be transplanted in pots in about 1 month.
