Different flower varieties have different requirements for fertilizer. Generally speaking, before the flowers are planted in the pot, basic fertilizer should be applied in the basin soil and the bottom of the pot, and topdressing should be applied in the process of flower growth. Application of more nitrogen fertilizer at seedling stage, such as urea and bean cake water, can promote growth; more phosphate fertilizer at bud stage can promote flowering, such as potassium dihydrogen phosphate and calcium superphosphate; less fertilizer can be applied at the initial stage of fruit setting; more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer can be applied at the strong fruit stage, such as potassium dihydrogen phosphate, which can promote fruit seed development. Spring and autumn are not only the period of flower growth, but also the best and safe period of fertilization, which can be applied more topdressing.

High temperature in summer, exuberant plant growth, but also need to topdressing, pay attention to the concentration of fertilizer, must be thin fertilizer diligently. For summer dormant flowers, such as calla lilies, cyclamen, hanging golden bells and so on, fertilizer must be stopped. Winter temperature is low, flowers grow slowly, generally do not apply fertilizer. It can be applied every 10-15 days in spring and autumn. With the increase of air temperature and plant growth, the times of fertilization should be gradually increased, and fertilization can be applied every 7-10 days in summer.
