Dry storage-keeping dry is the main condition to prevent seed deterioration. The moisture content should be kept at a level of 12% in order to stabilize the life activity of the seed. If it is found that it exceeds 1%, it should be turned into the sun immediately to prevent fever, mildew and freezing.

Cold storage-the increase of temperature will enhance the respiration of seeds and directly affect the quality and germination rate of seeds. It is best to store under the condition of 2-3 ℃, which can reduce the respiration of seeds and maintain the long vitality of seeds.

Clean storage-according to the actual experience, the general seeds collected and stored by families can be packed in cloth bags after drying, and hanging in a ventilated and dry place has a good effect.

In addition, some seeds are suitable for wet storage, such as Phyllostachys pubescens, papaya, peach blossoms, plum blossoms, roses, etc., while the seeds of water lilies and king lilies should be put in bottles filled with water; peony, rose, sweet-scented osmanthus and other seeds should be stored in sand; there are also those that need to be frozen, such as Iris, delphinium, water sage, etc.; the seeds of peony and white orchid should be planted as they are harvested. There are also some drupe and seed coat hard seeds, stored in the pit (a layer of horse dung, a layer of soil and a layer of seeds), sealed.
