Preservation method of Edible Fungi and how to change soil in Magnolia
Tianjin dong ye clivia for soil introduction. Dong Ye balcony raised a golden orchid, its experience is worth learning and sharing. Spring to autumn, and to the clivia for pots, for the time of soil. This work for the vast majority of orchids is like changing clothes according to the season, and it is natural. But there are also a small number of fans do not think so, often see some friends on the Internet (there are also many friends to send text messages to me) ask: Why do you want to change the pot to Clivia? Why can't you use a big pot for seedlings? Why can't big orchid use small basin? Clivia a few times a year to change the soil good, change the soil is too troublesome not new line? Water immediately after soil change or not? How to water...? Wait a minute. In view of these problems, I would like to share my personal views for your reference and discussion.
1. Why change the pot for Clivia?
1, we all know that Clivia from seed, seedling to adult orchid is a growing physiological process of constant change. Seedling leaves generally only one root, so a three-inch pot can be planted 3 to 5 seedlings, with the passage of time, especially after planting roots and leaves continue to increase, this is according to the growth needs of Clivia regularly or irregularly to replace the appropriate pot.
2. Clivia can't use large pots for seedlings. After watering seedlings with large pots, water evaporation is too slow to cause long-term ponding in the pot soil and serious hypoxia or uneven watering is not conducive to seedling (Xiaolan) growth.
3, big orchid also can not use small basin. Large orchids with small pots unfavorable root stretch growth, nutrient soil caused by insufficient nutrients, watering evaporation too fast on Clivia growth adverse. Speaking of this, you can give a summary of the above problems: Clivia must be replaced according to the growth needs of the basin, that is, can not be used with a large basin Xiaolan can not be used with a small basin. How much orchid (also according to the number of roots) in a word with how many pots.
Why do you need to change the soil twice a year?
1. The soil used for Clivia is a nutrient soil mainly composed of rotten leaves and pine needles plus a small amount of river sand and charcoal residue. Such nutrient soil, its nutrients will maintain at most half a year on the Clivia was absorbed. When we change the soil, we can see that the soil in the old basin after half a year has become muddy, not only has no nutrients but also very poor air permeability. Therefore, soil replacement twice a year is essential. Of course, if you have to be stronger, it's not impossible not to change the soil. Clivia resistance is very strong, bare roots for dozens of days can not die. Do not water, do not change the soil for a while will not die, but it is difficult to grow well, have seen two or three years to have a few leaves of Clivia, this and do not change the pot, do not change the soil and management is not in place have a certain relationship.
2. How does Clivia change soil?
(1)Preparation before soil replacement: rotten leaves, pine needles, river sand, charcoal residue (autumn according to the proportion of 5.2.2.1 in spring can be added or subtracted) mixed for standby. Another size hemp seeds, sunflower seeds and other solid fertilizers fried standby (note that the amount can not be too large), while selecting some suitable for the size of Clivia special pots standby.
(2)Clivia cut off water for 5 to 15 days (depending on the size of the pot) to make the pot soil moisture close to zero. Objective To replace soil without damaging roots and recover quickly.
(3)Check the root growth condition by knocking the soil in the basin, remove the rotten root and hollow root, and start loading the soil into the basin:
The first step: cover the basin hole with two tiles, cover it without strictness, block it without "death" to achieve the purpose of water permeability and soil leakage and root exposure.
Step 2: Lay the bottom soil of the basin (also can be combined with laying the base fertilizer). After laying, expose the root pocket of Clivia upward and fill it with plain soil. Then wrap the root pocket with the root, and enter the basin downward. Don't let the earth fall apart.
The third step: one hand to support the root pocket and the other hand along the basin wall filling (autumn can be combined with solid fertilizer mixed with soil or do waist fertilizer use), soil should be evenly filled with the filling with the orchid righting, soil filling. What should be noted here is filling, which is to squeeze or lock the roots instead of pressing them with the soil in the basin wall, the soil around the root pocket and the soil in the root pocket. The goal is to allow the roots to spread and grow smoothly.
III. When and how to water after changing pots and soil?
After changing pots and changing soil, water should be watered immediately, and water should be poured for three days to prevent turbid gas from damaging roots, and then normal management should be transferred. Some people do not advocate watering immediately after changing pots and soil. The so-called practice of letting the roots adapt slowly with less watering is not advisable because it lacks scientific and practical basis.
