The pathogen of petal gray mold is botrytiscinerea. The disease is caused by small round brown spots on petals and sepals, which is more common in Phalaenopsis, Cardelia and Oncidium, and is mainly caused by high humidity and poor ventilation. At low temperatures in winter and spring, in order to prevent cold air from invading the greenhouse and infringing orchids, doors and windows are often closed or heat preservation measures are taken, resulting in high relative humidity of the air in the greenhouse, which is a good opportunity for the occurrence and spread of the disease. The fungal disease is a widespread pathogen with hundreds of hosts and can infect flowers, ornamental plants, vegetables and fruit trees. It generally occurs in cultivated greenhouses from February to May every year. If the butterfly orchid flower is infected, it not only affects the ornamental value, but also reduces the commodity value, and even has no way to sell, resulting in great losses. The prevention and control methods are as follows:

Pay attention to ventilation and reduce environmental humidity.

Before the first flower unfolds, start spraying 2000 times of 50% acetaminophen wettable powder, and then spray it every 2-4 weeks.

During flowering, diseased flowers are immediately removed, burned or buried.

Other ornamental plants and flowers inside and outside the greenhouse also need to be protected at the same time.
