Orchid sowing methods can be divided into bacterial sowing and aseptic sowing. The former needs the symbiotic environment of orchids, while the latter is carried out on the culture medium. Because the seeds of orchids are too small, the number of seeds in each capsule ranges from 10,000 to one million, which is almost indistinguishable to the naked eye, and its structure can only be seen under a microscope. Its appearance is a transparent but impervious seed membrane, which contains fat and is insoluble in water. The membrane is usually an undifferentiated globular embryo, the embryo itself has almost no stored nutrients, the endosperm is extremely degraded, and there are no cotyledons. Seeds are easy to rot in general, and germination must have the conditions of symbiosis with orchid, or rely entirely on the medium to provide nourishment for germination and seedling formation under aseptic conditions.

You can try to use the mother plant pot sowing method, that is, there are bacteria sowing. The 4-to 5-year-old mother plant with strong growth was selected, and the symbiotic orchid in its root was also more developed, and the effect of sowing on it was better. Spread water moss on the basin before sowing. The water moss must be disinfected to avoid contamination by miscellaneous bacteria and cause seed rot. Move the orchid pot to a wet, warm and ventilated place, spread the orchid seeds evenly on the water moss on the basin surface, and then soak water from the bottom of the basin to wet the basin soil, basin surface and seeds, and avoid washing away the seeds by pouring water. The ambient temperature should be kept between 20 ℃ and 26 ℃. After summer, black net should be used to block the strong sunlight and properly ventilate and disperse fog to prevent excessive humidity from causing mold reproduction and seed mildew. About 4 to 8 months after sowing, the seeds can germinate, and 1 to 2 months after germination, the seedlings can be transplanted into a small basin. Using this method, prawn ridge orchid, Paphiopedilum, Dendrobium and so on, the effect is better, but the sowing effect of Chunlan and Cymbidium is not ideal. For the sowing and propagation of Cymbidium and Cymbidium, it is best to use the medium sowing method, as for how to prepare the culture medium, seed disinfection, inoculation, and so on, because the method is complicated and the operation technology is high, it is best to go to the relevant local agricultural and forestry universities or scientific research institutes for special training, and then the implementation of the operation may be more effective, and can reduce unnecessary detours.
