The short-horned jumper, also known as the horned springworm, is one of the jumping insects that harm edible fungi. The adult is 1.4 mm long, white and cylindrical. 4 segments of antennae. The whole body is densely covered with fine hairs, with a few long hairs between them. 4-6 segments of the abdomen healed. The feet are slender and slightly curved, and the ‍ has a small tooth in the inner edge. The projectile is about as long as the antennae, the end segment is small and curved upward, and has 2 teeth.

In the mycelial growth period, the short-horned jumping beetle generally gathers on the surface of the mycelium to feed on the mycelium, destroy the bacteria and roots, and inhibit the hair bacteria. During the fruiting body growth period, the food can be eaten in the fold, and it can also be fed in various parts of the cell surface. The surface of the eaten mushroom body is wrinkled, not smooth, there are gaps or pores, the water content of the mushroom body decreases and shrinks gradually. In addition, the virus can be transmitted.

Control short-horned jumping insects, pay attention to maintain the environmental hygiene of the cultivation site, prevent excessive wetness and stagnant water, and maintain good ventilation. The mushroom house should be thoroughly disinfected before cultivation, and the new covering soil should be selected. The culture material and covering soil should be exposed to the sun for 2-3 days and dried. The culture material advocates secondary fermentation to kill jumping insects at high temperature.

When jumping insects occur during the mushroom emergence period, 0.1% fish rattan essence or 100% pyrethrum can be sprayed; when there are no mushrooms on the bed, 0.4% dipterex or 0.2% dimethoate emulsion can be sprayed, or 1000 times of 90% trichlorfon and a small amount of molasses can be used to trap and kill them in a shallow dish. 1000-fold solution of 90% trichlorfon can be sprayed after mushroom picking to reduce the number of jumping insects.
