White orchids, as a flower with strong ornamental cultivation, have a fresh and elegant symbol. However, when potted in the north, even if carefully managed, after a few years of growth, the lower parts of the main branches and lateral branches are often bare and leafless, a phenomenon that gardeners call "taking off their pants", which is very unsightly. So how do we deal with this phenomenon?

The solution is to cut short all branches, the time is better in the middle and late May, stimulate the hidden buds and lateral buds of the nodes by pruning to re-sprout the crown, prevent the lengthening growth of the original branches, and concentrate the nutrition to supply axillary buds to sprout new branches and leaves. After pruning, the number of lateral branches can be increased by 3-4 times. On the original branch, 3-4 new lateral branches can grow, so the crown is not only plump, but also the flowering parts will be greatly increased.

When using the above method to renew the crown, the cut must be located above a lateral bud and 0.6 cm away from the terminal bud to prevent leaving a dead stump. It should also be noted that when selecting cuttings, the buds that grow toward the periphery of the crown must be selected as cuttings, and the extended branches that grow from them after germination will grow outward, otherwise the new branches will cross each other and cause disorder in the tree shape. After pruning, in order to prevent the cut from drying, it is best to wrap the cut with a small piece of film or paint to prevent dry rot and affect the germination of the cut bud.

Family potted white orchids, pay attention to the choice of loose, breathable and rich in humus soil cultivation. Usually choose a good permeability earthen basin, purple sand basin (jar) or plastic basin with more bottom holes. The soil in the basin should have a certain amount of granular soil of different sizes to facilitate water seepage and ventilation.
