In response to the action focus of the United Nations World Ocean Day, "preventing plastic pollution of the ocean", and promoting the policy of not providing one-time plastic straws for domestic catering for restricted users from July 1, 108, the EPD selected Dingliao Beach in Linkou District of New Taipei City on June 2, 108. The event was attended by the fans of the EPD's "National Guotan Adoption Pure Beach" fan page, fast food chain McDonald's and Moss Hamburg employees, environmental group Haichung Studio and New Taipei Environmental Protection Bureau, a total of about 248people. together to witness the pollution of plastic waste (including straws) all over the coastal environment, and a total of about 1134 kg of general garbage and 51 kg of resource recycling.

The EPA said that the reduction of marine debris is a global concern, and more and more people are spontaneously participating in beach clean-up activities, practicing and responding to the reduction of waste at source. In this year's environmental season, the Environmental Protection Department held a beach purification activity at Dingliao Beach in Linkou, which also aims to simplify the opening ceremony, reduce the use of disposable items, implement the concept of waste reduction, and encourage people to take the beach feeder bus to save energy and reduce carbon.

The EPD once again calls on the public to start with their own waste reduction, and can apply for coastal adoption and beach purification activities through the Coastal Clean Beach Adoption system (https://ecolife2.epa.gov.tw/coastal/) set up by the EPD, so as to contribute to coastal cleaning and maintenance.

The garbage picked up by the people on the clean beach of ▲ arranged the landscape of sea turtles, calling on the whole people to take care of the environment.
