Cultivation methods and precautions of delphinium
Swallow grass can also be called pigeon flower, chicken claw lotus, thousand bird flower, hundred grass and so on, because the flower pattern is similar to the swallow, it belongs to the genus Ranunculaceae. It first grew in southern Europe, and now it is planted all over our country, and it is more common in grasslands and hillsides. When the swallows are in full bloom, more blue birds fall from the sky, which is very moving. Because of its tall and straight plant shape, elegant leaves and beautiful flowers, it is used in the beautification of the garden.
The culture method of swallow:
Soil: with humus fertile slightly acidic sandy soil, pH is best controlled at 5.5-6.0, keep the soil moist, not easy to accumulate water.
Lighting: swallows need to receive enough sunlight to promote plant growth, especially in winter, tolerance to certain shades, summer to avoid strong light, put in a semi-shady place.
Temperature: like cool weather, the best growth temperature is between 20-25 ℃ during the day and 3-15 ℃ at night.
Watering: swallows like wet, but also drought-resistant, watering should be fully watered at one time, dry on watering, flowering to slightly increase the amount of water, not too dry.
Fertilizer: when changing the basin, the base fertilizer needs to add dry manure, and in other periods, it should be fertilized according to the growth of the plant, generally applying cooked cake fertilizer and water 1 to 3 times a month.
Note:
Delphinium needs a sunny and cool growth environment. It can tolerate both cold and drought, but it is not resistant to high temperature and moisture, and the requirement for soil is not very high. However, when planting, we should pay attention to the following problems:
① sowing time: both spring and autumn can be sown. If sowing in autumn, it must be in mid-September.
② maintenance: the soil must be kept moist after sowing. The easiest way is to cover some grass and gradually remove the mulch after emergence.
③ transplantation: when Swift grass grows 2 true leaves, transplant it in a small basin with soil, and then change the pot again when the seedlings grow up.
④ watering: watering should be dry and wet, and a little more water should be properly watered during the flowering period to avoid excessive dryness of the soil.
⑤ fertilization: dry manure was applied as base fertilizer when changing pots, and then rotten cake fertilizer and water was applied 1-3 times a month according to the growth situation.
⑥ height control: after changing the basin, paclobutrazol was used to control the height of the plant. The specific method was to apply 0.5% paclobutrazol every 2 weeks.
⑦ seed collection: seed collection should be timely, so as to avoid fruit cracking after maturity.
