Over the past decade, farmers' bazaars have sprung up in Taiwan, acting as a bridge between urban residents and agricultural producers, acting as an intermediary communication platform, so that producers and consumers can exchange questions with each other through the platform of the bazaar. Consumers can be more aware of the food on the table, and producers can adjust their crop selection and cultivation habits through consumer feedback.

In recent years, food farmers' education is in full swing, and the market itself is an excellent field for food farmers' education. From encouraging consumers to use environmentally friendly tableware and shopping bags for routine environmental protection, inviting producers to serve as lecturers to share production experience, farming methods or farm cooking, to leading consumers into the field to participate in a small part of farming, experience the hard work of the production process, based on seeing, actual visits, to enhance mutual trust and connection.

How can the bazaar expand its participation and really connect with the communities around the bazaar? We try to combine food farmer education with kindergarten education so that parents and children can participate together. The following is based on the experience of Xingda Organic Farmers Market, combined with the currently promoting food farmers education courses to share with you.

The picture says: the last class in the series of courses allows children to come to the bazaar to sell their planting results, while implementing a parent-child food farming course in the bazaar.

Note: supplementary content ─ what is Farmer Education and Ten goals

Dong Shifeng and Cai Changjuan (2016) define "food farmer education" as a kind of experiential education that emphasizes "hand-made". Learners develop simple farming skills by personally participating in the complete process of agricultural products from production, processing to cooking. In this process, learners are also trained to understand the sources of food, improve their ability to choose food, and promote the development of healthy eating habits. In addition, through the labor experience of farming, we can cultivate learners' respect and gratitude for food, producers and the environment, and stimulate their resilience and perseverance. "

The ten major objectives of food farmers' education are as follows:

1. Understand the original appearance and taste of food, strengthen taste and sensory education.

two。 Understand the value of nutritionally balanced and diversified food intake.

3. Develop simple diet skills.

4. Understand the concept of "food mileage" and local ingredients.

5. Understand the impact of diet and agricultural production on the natural environment.

6. Understand the risks of food overprocessing and chemical additives.

7. Cultivate good eating etiquette and respect for life.

8. Cultivate simple agricultural production skills and experience their hard work.

9. Understand crop seasonality and variety diversity.

10. Understand the unique production skills and food culture of local agriculture.
