Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Hyacinth is a flower species often cultivated by people. Potted hyacinth usually keeps the soil slightly wet and avoids being too wet or stagnant water, so that it can generally bloom in March of the following year. On the other hand, the method of pot planting is basically the same as that of planting in the ground, using 14 bulbs per pot of loose soil, applying sufficient basic fertilizer, putting it outside in the sunny place, and topdressing during the growing period.

Hyacinth is a flower species often cultivated by people. Potted hyacinth usually keeps the soil slightly wet and avoids being too wet or stagnant water, so that it can generally bloom in March of the following year. On the other hand, the method of pot planting is basically the same as that of planting in the ground. Using loose soil and applying sufficient basic fertilizer to place 4 bulbs per pot in the sunny place outside, topdressing during the growing period, the plant was cultured in the sunny place indoors in November and kept at room temperature for 5 ℃. It can also blossom and smell fragrant around March.

However, potted hyacinth flowers will fade when they bloom. What should be done with hyacinths after flowering? The treatment methods of hyacinth flower fade (hydroponic culture and soil culture) are introduced in this paper.

If you are a soil-grown hyacinth, if you have flowered, you can maintain it normally until the leaves wither, then stop watering and leave it in the shade, and you can sprout and blossom the next year. In normal maintenance, of course, after withering, dig up the ball, trim the root properly, then pick it up in a newspaper and put it in a cool and ventilated place. Of course, there is one thing to say here is that many flower friends will say that raising balls is after the flowering period of hyacinths, that is, the stage of raising balls. Flower friends can fertilize properly to raise balls and be thin and fat.

Breeding methods of hyacinth after anthesis:

1. Keep the bulb: after the flowers of hyacinth are faded. Cut off all the leaves, stems, etc., and keep the bulbs. Then bury the bulbs in the sand and wait for the summer dormancy to come.

2. Re-breeding: around July 20, dig it out, put it in the freezer, keep it at 4 ℃, promote germination at low temperature, wait for the growth point to sprout, continue to bury it in the sand, water it once every 15 days, and wait for the pot cultivation in December, the management is very extensive, and there is no special technology.

3. Keep the light: hyacinths after flowering need a lot of sunlight, try to put it outside or in the morning sun, not less than four to five hours of sunlight every day. If you don't see the sun indoors, it will wither quickly.

4. Control water to cut ears: hyacinths after flowering, don't water them after all the flowers have shrunk. After a week or so, cut off the shrunken spikes and throw them away. After all the flowers and leaves are withered and yellow, cut off all the stems about one centimeter from the root and continue to dry the epidermis.

5. Dig out the bulbs below and you will find that there are more bouquets, just like animals giving birth to cubs, that is, hyacinths have babies, put them in an envelope and put them in a cool and dry place. After the second Spring Festival, take out the garlic-like bulbs and bury them in flowerpots and keep them indoors at this time. When the weather gets warmer, the seedlings will shine a lot of sunshine when they are going to bud.

However, it is not necessarily whether it blossoms or not, and it is also possible to produce very small flowers, because these are hyacinth babies. The bulbs have to be raised until the diameter reaches about 3-5 cm before they can produce beautiful flowers as big as before. You have to be patient! This process may take two years.

If you buy soil-grown hyacinths, maintain them normally after blooming until the leaves wither, then stop watering and put the flowerpot in a cool and ventilated place. The next year, hyacinths will sprout and blossom by themselves.

But if it is a hydroponic hyacinth, after the flower fades, you can cut off the leaves and fibrous roots, let the bulb dry naturally, then wrap the bulb in a newspaper, put it in a cool and ventilated place, and then take it out in December to continue hydroponic or soil culture.

Aquaculture methods of hyacinth after anthesis:

1. Continue aquaculture: hyacinths after blooming continue to be hydroponized until the temperature rises gradually in early June, the leaves of hyacinths will wither and yellow and enter the summer dormancy period.

2. Cut off the leaves: cut off all the withered and yellow leaves of hyacinth in summer dormancy, and cut off all the roots.

3. Refrigerate hyacinth: put the bulb in a cool and ventilated place to dry for 1 to 2 days (never dry). After drying thoroughly, wrap the bulbs in a newspaper and put them in a can and put them in the freezer (not the freezer).

4. Temperature requirements: the temperature should not exceed 10 degrees during the summer, otherwise the bulbs are perishable.

5. Re-farming: when the temperature gradually turns cool into late autumn in November, take out the hyacinth bulbs that have been preserved for a summer, place them on the mouth of the bottle in a proper container, add water to about 1CM from the bottom of the bulbs, and then place them in a completely dark and cool place for 5 ℃ to promote rooting. The root system will sprout after about 25 days, and when the root system grows to 2CM, it can be raised according to the normal maintenance method of hyacinth until it blossoms. In general, in this cycle, hyacinths can be kept for about 3 years, and the original bulbs will basically no longer blossom in the 4th year.

After the hyacinth blossoms, after treatment, it will also blossom the following year, but the flowers will become short and the scape will atrophy, which is mainly due to the degeneration of the bulb. Therefore, hyacinth cultivation is appropriate to buy new bulbs after planting for one year!
