Culture methods and matters needing attention of hydroponic mint
In Greek mythology, the Keeper fell in love with the beautiful elf, became jealous and turned the elf into grass trampled by the roadside. The grass exudes a cool fragrance, which is loved by more and more people. This grass is mint.
Peppermint grows very fast, both in hydroponics and in soil, so it can branch at the right time, that is, cut off one branch and divide it into two branches to continue hydroponic or soil culture. Does the mint in the crystal clear bottle look more lush and lovable? Then hurry home and get a bottle, so that the fresh moments of nature can accompany you.
1. Pruning: peppermint can be planted with broken branches, but irregular wounds are rotten. It is recommended to cut branches with sharp scissors. Each branch is 5-10cm long.
2. Container: prepare a beautiful bottle, add water and insert mint into it. It will take root in a week or so. Be careful not to soak the leaves in the water, they will rot easily.
3. Change the water: change the water once a week. Rain Water is the best. Please dry the tap water for 3 days before use.
4, lighting: mint likes light, long-term lack of light will grow; long-term strong light mint will wilt, mint will grow more beautiful one hour a day!
5. Temperature: the optimum temperature for peppermint growth is 20-30 ℃. Mint is more hardy, but it is recommended to move back indoors in winter!
Peppermint has a wide range of uses, not only the smell is fragrant, it can purify the air to a certain extent, but also can be used as toothpaste and mint and other raw materials. If we want to cultivate peppermint at home, we can not only use soil culture, but also hydroponic culture of mint, which can also have a good effect. The following is to introduce the maintenance methods of hydroponic mint:
1. Plenty of sunshine
Peppermint likes light, so keep it where there is enough light, and you can't stay in the shade where you can't see the sun all the time. In this way, it is difficult to produce photosynthesis, take root less, and grow leaves.
Peppermint has a large demand for sunlight and water, leaving it in the shade with weak light for a long time is not conducive to normal photosynthesis, is not conducive to the growth of leaves, and the number of roots will be reduced; putting the bottle of hydroponic peppermint in a place with sufficient light every two days can meet the light needed for its growth.
2. Change water frequently
You don't have to change the water too frequently, you can usually change it once a week. If the base water in the bottle is reduced, you can add some water. You don't have to change the water every day. If there is less water in the bottle, you will add a little more, but don't fill it up. At the same time, an appropriate amount of nutrient solution can be added to the water to ensure sufficient nutrients for the growth of mint.
3. Sprinkle water to moisturize
Although peppermint is hydroponic, it still needs to spray water on the leaves to moisturize, usually twice a day. To use a small spray can, the amount of water should not be too much, but because it is foggy, it is fully absorbed.
Experience of mint conservation:
1. Mint likes a warm and humid environment, and the frost-free period should be more than 200 days. The requirement of soil is not strict, except for heavy alkaline land, heavy clayey land and sandy land, all can be planted, but it is better to use fertile loam and sandy loam. Sunlight plays an important role in increasing the content of menthol and peppermint oil, especially in the blooming period of pregnant buds, there should be enough sunlight, so mint should not be planted in shady places.
2. Peppermint long sunshine plants. Sexual preference for adequate sunshine, bud flowering requires sufficient sunshine and dry weather, which can increase oil content and brain capacity. If there are too many Rain Water in the later stage, it is easy to grow, the leaves are thin, the lower part of the plant is easy to fall leaves, and there are many diseases. Sexual preference for neutral soil, PH 6.5-7.5 sandy loam, loam and humus soil can be planted. Peppermint likes fertilizer, especially nitrogen fertilizer, avoid continuous cropping. Long sunshine can promote the flowering of peppermint and is conducive to the accumulation of peppermint oil and menthol.
Note:
1. If the leaves blacken in the process of hydroponics, the black leaves should be removed in time. Vanilla plants do not have to worry about picking leaves, but usually pick them more and more vigorously.
2. When changing the base water, wash the roots by the way, remove those rotten leaves in the water, and ensure the cleanliness and health of the base water and plants.
3. No matter whether hydroponic culture or soil culture is used, peppermint grows very rapidly, so the mother plant can be branched, that is, one branch is cut off and divided into two branches to continue hydroponic or soil culture.
