What about the yellow leaves of mountain pine bonsai?
Mountain pine is deeply loved by people because of its rugged and simple tree stalks and its green evergreen posture. But everyone may have such an experience, in a piece of green flowers and trees, there are one or more yellowed pine leaves, it appears to be very eye-catching, very incongruous. Why do the needles of these pine trees appear yellow leaves under the same natural conditions and the same mode of management?
In order to find out why, I checked two of them at the beginning of the year. In fact, it is already the growing period of Pinus elliottii, and it is found that it does not have a normal "bean sprout root" (the new root tip with normal growth is in a white crystal state, commonly known as bean sprout root), and some of the roots become black and necrotic.
Through the comprehensive analysis of the air permeability of the matrix, the causes of needle yellowing may be:
1. The substrate of cultivation is not loose and breathable enough.
2. excessive watering makes the basin soil too wet for a long time, and there is not enough oxygen in the basin.
3. The root system was damaged when the times of fertilization was too dense or the concentration was too high.
In view of the above reasons, when re-potting, cut off the necrotic roots, remove part of the persistent soil, increase the loose and breathable matrix (fresh loess plus river sand or soaked water to remove 30% of the coal ballast), adopt semi-overcast management; water is dry and thoroughly poured, do not dry and do not water.
After 2 months, the leaf color has gradually turned green. It is not allowed to apply fertilizer at this time, and in another two months, if you grow vigorously and apply thin fertilizer, you can enter the normal management in the second half of the year.
In the process of maintenance, attention should be paid to:
1. Pinus elliottii is a full-day plant, but it can not be exposed to the sun in summer, and it will grow badly if there is not enough sunshine.
2. Clean old needles and withered needles regularly and maintain a proper amount of needles to facilitate ventilation and daylighting
3. Relative fixed maintenance position, do not move frequently
4. Pruning and grafting wounds must be sealed in time and stop glue should be released.
5. Pinus elliottii is a shallow root tree species, so it is not suitable for deep planting.
6. Pinus elliottii has higher requirements for soil and should be taken seriously.
7. It is easy to shrink and die when there are no branches and leaves on the branches of Pinus elliottii.
8. Pay attention to wind and shock protection at the initial stage, so as not to shake the tree and pull the root. Small trees are fixed by piling, while big brackets are fixed.

How to manage pear trees after grafting
Grafting is to artificially connect the branches or buds and other tissues of one plant to the appropriate parts of the branch, stem or root of another plant, so that it can heal and grow together to form a new plant. This branch or bud is called a scion, and the plant that bears it is called a rootstock. Grafting is indicated by the symbol +.
