How to change the Pine Bonsai
Pine trees grow in the basin for too long, its roots will be circuitous and intricate distribution, the basin soil is also easy to become powdered, seriously hindering the effect of air permeability and drainage, and the decline of water conservation capacity, in this case, we need to consider as bonsai flowerpots. The change of pine pots can be carried out in spring and autumn. Spring should be carried out from January to March, and autumn should be carried out during the period of 9-10 in early autumn. As autumn is approaching the dormant period, it is recommended to change the basin in spring.
1. Ban the water before changing the basin
Water supply should be banned a few days before changing pines to ensure that the soil is dry when changing pots. And do not clean the roots when changing pots.
2. Root trimming treatment
Before the new pot, we need to trim the roots of the excavated pine trees. When pruning roots, you should be light and careful, not as casually as changing pots for other miscellaneous trees. It is recommended to keep some fine roots that grow healthily and have strong water absorption ability.
3. The process of potting.
First put the prepared new basin soil into the basin, then plant the trees, and then cover the remaining soil. Next, insert the stick into the soil many times to ensure that the basin soil becomes compact and has no large voids. Shake the basin while filling so that the soil can come into close contact with the plant's roots as closely as possible.
4. Watering after planting
After the pine tree is replanted in the pot, it needs to be watered continuously. The purpose of this is, on the one hand, to disperse the powdered soil on the root to facilitate the discharge of the water, on the other hand, it can also test that the drainage in the basin soil and the basin bottom is unobstructed, and the soil has good permeability.
5. Placement management
After watering, the next step is to put it in the right place for maintenance and management. The pine tree likes the sun and has strong drought tolerance, so it should be placed in the sunny place so that it can receive sunshine in the whole process, maintain good ventilation and do a good job of replenishing water.
If the pine trees that change pots are relatively large, it is recommended to replace the old soil in two stages, so as to avoid adverse effects on the growth of trees. You can replace half of the old soil when changing the basin for the first time, and change the basin again next year, while replacing the old soil of the other half at the same time.
However, no matter whether the pine is a big tree or a small tree, it is not suitable to fertilize it immediately after changing pots. It takes at least 1-2 months for the trees to recover and stabilize before topdressing.
