Many pot friends prefer to raise this kind of potted plant, whether it is viewing leaves or flowers, it can always bring brilliant wonderful.

The method of dividing plants is used to breed young plants, but the time of dividing plants should be selected. In addition to winter, the method can be used in other seasons due to low temperature. But how do you raise this plant? Today, Xiaobian will share with you the cultivation method of potted purple bamboo spider orchid.

I. Soil mixing

Because of the strong adaptability of purple bamboo spider plant to soil environment, it is easier to survive in potted plants. In terms of soil preparation, it is recommended to use fertile, loose and permeable culture soil. The recommended method is to mix humus soil with peat soil and sand in a certain proportion. Of course, some decomposed organic fertilizer can also be added to clean fine sand.

II. Light

Light is necessary for all things to be rejuvenated, and purple bamboo spider plant is no exception. However, this plant prefers a semi-shady growth environment, so it should be placed indoors near the windowsill and other bright places for conservation and management. If it is placed outdoors for maintenance and management, avoid sun exposure when the temperature is too high in summer, and move indoors to keep warm when the temperature is too low in winter for safe winter.

III. Temperature

When the ambient temperature is maintained above 15°C, the purple bamboo spider plant can grow well, and this plant is also relatively resistant to high temperatures, even in the summer high temperature weather above 30°C, as long as avoid the sun exposure, it will not cause growth problems due to hot weather. However, the cold-tolerance ability of purple bamboo spider orchid is weak, and it usually needs to keep the temperature above 4°C to safely overwinter. Therefore, when the winter temperature is too low, warm measures should be taken in time.

IV. Humidity

Purple bamboo spider orchid likes high humidity growth environment, when the weather is hot and dry, it should take water supplement measures in time, and can increase the air humidity by spraying to ensure that the plants can maintain normal growth. Of course, in order to make the leaves of the plant appear brighter, we can also take the method of spraying water on the plant to clean the leaves.

V. Watering

The purple bamboo spider orchid likes moisture, so it requires the basin soil to be kept moist frequently. Because the fleshy root system of the plant usually stores a lot of water, it also has strong drought tolerance like other fleshy root plants, even if it is dry for several days, it will not die due to water shortage. Usually only need to maintain normal watering can, summer can increase watering, winter temperature should be controlled when watering, otherwise easy to cause yellowing of leaves.

VI. Fertilization

In the growing season, it is recommended to apply thin liquid fertilizer once every 2 weeks, but because this plant originally has low requirements for nutrients to ensure growth, so generally do not need to apply nitrogen fertilizer, even if nitrogen fertilizer, in the amount must be controlled well, to be thin enough, otherwise it will affect the white or yellow stripes on the leaves, reduce ornamental. When the ambient temperature is too low, less fertilizer should be applied, especially in winter when the temperature is lower than 4°C, the plant will enter a dormant state, and topdressing should be stopped immediately.

VII. Trimming

In order to maintain good ornamental quality of plants, we usually recommend cutting off old yellow leaves in due course, and some old leaves can be cut off in May every year to promote more new leaves. In addition, we can also combine the annual March pot change work to cut off slender old roots, rotten roots and too complex fibrous roots. (Written by: Laughing Book 2017-09-03 22:14)
