Sweet pepper is a popular market, which is rich in nutrients and vitamins, and does not have the spicy taste of chili peppers, so it can be eaten as a daily vegetable. For friends who grow sweet pepper, sweet pepper fertilization is very important, so how to fertilize sweet pepper in order to achieve high yield? Let's take a look.

1. Characteristics of fertilizer requirement

The growth period of sweet pepper is long, but the root system is underdeveloped, the soil is shallow, and it is not drought-tolerant or hard-working. The amount of fertilizer required is much higher than that of tomato and eggplant, and the fertilizer tolerance is strong. Generally, for every 1000 kg of sweet pepper produced, it is necessary to absorb 4.91kg of nitrogen, 1.19kg of phosphorus and 6.02kg of potassium from the soil, and their absorption ratio is 5:1:6. The absorption of nutrient elements increases with the growth and development of vegetables, and the amount of nutrient absorption increases rapidly from fruit expansion to harvest. 30-40 days before adoption, the absorption accounts for 60% of the total absorption, accounting for 80% of the total absorption. Until harvest, the absorption is generally stable.

2. Seedling fertilizer

Due to the long growth period of sweet pepper, it is appropriate to choose the soil rich in humus as the seedbed. When there is sufficient nutrition in the seedling stage, there is generally no need to apply fertilizer. If the seedlings grow slowly, the leaves are long and narrow, and the stems are lean, a small amount of urea can be applied with water half a month before planting to promote the growth of seedlings.

3. Base fertilizer

Sweet pepper has a long growth period and underdeveloped root system, so it is necessary to use sufficient organic fertilizer as base fertilizer in order to ensure sufficient vegetative growth of seedlings and more fruit in the later stage. As a base fertilizer, the organic fertilizer had better go through fully mature barnyard manure, and the dosage should be large, generally with the application of 3000-3500 kg per mu in spring ploughing, making beds after shaping and raking, laying a layer of 1000-1500 kg of organic fertilizer, raking flat and then planting. This layered fertilization is of great benefit to the promotion of seedling growth and nutrient demand in the later stage, and lays a solid foundation for the high yield of sweet pepper.

4. Topdressing

Sweet pepper generally needs topdressing three times, once after slow seedling, trench near the plant, spread high-quality organic fertilizer in the ditch, cover the soil, properly control watering, so that squatting seedlings The second topdressing is in the full fruit period, when sweet pepper needs the greatest amount of fertilizer, and it is necessary to apply it again. It is generally appropriate to apply 2000 kilograms of human feces and urine per mu, or to apply an appropriate amount of chemical fertilizer. At the same time, it is also a rainy season. Pay attention to drainage so as to avoid retting roots and fallen leaves. The third fertilization should be in the middle and later stage of harvesting chicken hearts, when the rainy season has passed, the light is sufficient, the temperature drops, and the temperature difference between day and night is large, which is suitable for the growth and development of conditions, human manure and urine or nitrogen fertilizer should be applied every 8-10 days, and the specific amount of fertilizer application depends on the plant growth.

The above is the introduction of high-yield fertilization technology for sweet pepper. I hope it can help you. If you want to know more about it, please follow us.
