The four seasons plum is not only colorful, but also has a long flowering period. it is a kind of flower plant that many people like to plant in pots. Put it in the appropriate indoor location, such as living room, windowsill, study and other places, can play a very good decorative role; even if it is potted on the outdoor balcony, it can also bring a beautiful scenery to the balcony.

But if you want potted flowers and plants to show off in a beautiful manner, the means of conservation and management are very important, and the four Seasons Plum is no exception. If we usually maintain and manage improperly, it is possible to cause the potted plants to turn yellow, which is bound to greatly affect the ornamental value. So, what happened to the yellowing of the leaves of the four seasons plum?

In fact, the inducement of yellow leaf phenomenon in four-season plum and many potted flowers is roughly the same, mainly in air temperature, water and so on.

I. the temperature is too low

If the leaves of potted four-season plum turn yellow due to temperature, it is mainly due to discomfort caused by low temperature. The four seasons plum prefer warm, dry and well-lit growth environment. The most suitable growth temperature is 18-24 ℃ in spring and summer, and 13-18 ℃ in autumn and winter. In order to survive the winter smoothly, it is necessary to keep the ambient temperature above 10 ℃.

If the temperature is too low, we should consider providing it with a more suitable temperature environment. Summer generally does not exist this problem, generally spring, autumn and winter three seasons, especially in winter, a sudden drop in temperature is a common thing. It is suggested that in addition to the need to transplant potted four-season plum outdoors to fully receive light on a sunny day, it should be moved to indoor maintenance in time when the temperature is too low. Whether it is floor heating or heating air conditioning, as long as it can provide temperature protection for the room. Note that if it is a hot air conditioner, remember to keep the potted plants out of the tuyere.

2. Lack of water and drought

Although the four seasons plum likes a relatively dry growth environment, it is not without watering. If it is in a state of lack of water and drought for a long time, the leaves will yellowing, and even the plants will become withered and fallen leaves. In this case, the yellow leaves are generally characterized by lack of water, which is different from other yellow leaves.

In view of the phenomenon of leaf yellowing caused by long-term water shortage, we should replenish it with water in time. However, when watering, it is not appropriate to irrigate heavily, otherwise the plant will not be able to adapt to the situation and appear more serious. The scientific approach is to water it one by one, gradually. It is believed that the phenomenon of yellow leaves will disappear soon, and the whole plant will be full of green.

Third, matrix causes

If the substrate used for potted cultivation of four seasons plum appears iron deficiency or alkalinity for a long time, it may also cause the plant to yellowing leaves. However, this kind of yellow leaves is mainly characterized by lack of characteristics or alkaline matrix, which is different from other yellow leaves. However, we also need to take it seriously, otherwise it will also affect the viewing effect.

For this yellow leaf phenomenon, we can apply ferrous sulfate (also known as green alum) to the plant. Because the proper intake of ferrous sulfate in the basin soil can neutralize the original alkaline matrix and make the basin soil show acidity, which is more suitable for the growth of four seasons plum. Because the four seasons plum itself prefers the acidic substrate.

In addition, for the four seasons plum plant for many years occasionally yellowed leaves, fallen leaves, if the maintenance and management measures are scientific and reasonable, this is a normal phenomenon of plant metabolism, we do not need to panic. However, when we re-cut it, in addition to pruning the old yellowing leaves, we should also control the height of the plant type by pruning, and at the same time promote its germination.
