How to raise Beech Bonsai
Beech is a positive tree species, so it likes light and warm growth environment, and is suitable for deep, fertile and moist soil, but its adaptability to soil is very strong, so the requirement for soil is not high. No matter it is acidic, neutral or alkaline soil environment, it can survive.
The roots of beech trees tend to grow deeper, and the lateral roots are also more developed, so they have strong wind resistance; but they are afraid of moisture, especially stagnant water in the basin, are not resistant to drought and barren, and their growth is relatively slow, so they live longer. So, how to raise the beech tree as a bonsai?
I. Lighting
As the beech tree is more like the sun, so its bonsai can not be placed in the dark for a long time, otherwise it is easy to appear the phenomenon of fallen leaves. We usually need to keep it in a well-lit and ventilated place for maintenance. However, if the summer sun is too fierce, appropriate shading measures should be taken.
Second, temperature
Beech is relatively heat-resistant but not cold-resistant, especially in the cold winter. In order to ensure that the plant can survive the winter smoothly, the ambient temperature should not be lower than 5 ℃. If the outdoor environment is bad in winter, it is recommended to keep it indoors in a sunny and warm place to avoid frostbite.
Third, watering
Beech trees like a moist but not moist soil environment, so watering should be timely and appropriate. It is suggested that there is more watering in summer than in other seasons, and watering should be strictly controlled in winter. In addition, in order to replenish water, we also recommend spraying foliar water from top to bottom until the bottom is thoroughly watered.
IV. Fertilization
The summer and autumn season is the peak growth period of beech. In order to meet its growth needs, we should appropriately increase nutrients for it, mainly to supplement nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. We can keep chasing fertilizer once a month and recommend using fermented cake fertilizer and water that is completely rotten. And fertilization should be carried out along the edge of the inner wall of the basin, and should be watered immediately after fertilization.
5. Pruning
In order to make the beech bonsai more luxuriant and beautiful, sometimes we need to prune it reasonably and necessary. The pruning of beech trees should be carried out in early spring, but for the needs of the shape of the tree, we also need to prune the new branches and leaves properly, and we can also prune them according to our personal preferences.

The method of changing the basin of beech bonsai
If the bonsai tree grows in the limited potted soil environment for too long, the fertility will be gradually exhausted with the passage of time, and the potted soil will become more and more hardened, and the air permeability and water permeability will be seriously affected. So changing the pot of the bonsai tree at the right time is the basis to ensure that it continues to grow well. Beech bonsai is no exception.
