The banyan bonsai generally needs to be changed every 2 years, and the time to change the basin is generally set after the banyan tree enters a dormant state, that is, the two periods of early spring or late autumn. On the other hand, the basin change of the banyan tree should be adjusted in the basin soil, and the right amount of completely mature organic matter can be added to the basin soil.

Giving the banyan bonsai flowerpot is a meticulous work. During this period, you should avoid breaking up the clod wrapped in the root as much as possible, then place it in a larger bowl, fill the soil, pour through the water and place it in a ventilated place for a few days. Due to the tenacious vitality of the banyan bonsai, as long as the basin is changed properly, it is easy to take the basin and easy to feed. So, specifically, how to change the banyan bonsai? The operation process is as follows:

1. In order to facilitate the banyan tree to get rid of the original basin smoothly, it is suggested that the banyan tree be watered once 2-3 days before changing the basin, so that the water soaks the whole basin soil, especially the basin soil is separated from the inner wall of the basin.

2. Take the banyan tree together with the potted soil from the original basin to avoid breaking up the clods wrapped on the banyan root system as far as possible, so as not to affect its survival in the new basin. Then observe the root state of the banyan tree infiltrating the soil, and cut off the rotten or diseased root system, that is, root pruning. Then disinfect it with potassium permanganate solution.

3. The next step is the process of potting. First, take a flowerpot larger than the original pot, then spread a layer of broken tiles above the basin outlet, and then cover it with a layer of pre-prepared new basin soil, preferably mixed with some river sand to facilitate air and water permeability. After that, the banyan trees with dirt and root trimming and disinfection were transplanted into the new pot. Cover the soil with moderate thickness and gently pat the basin to make the soil touch the banyan tree as tightly as possible.

4. After completing the above operation, we can't water it immediately. We usually have to wait for half a day to water it, and we should water it thoroughly. However, if some roots are damaged during the potting process, watering should be postponed appropriately. And when the surface soil dries, we have to rehydrate for the second time. In the first few days, we need to put the banyan bonsai in a cool and ventilated place, and then gradually put it in a semi-shaded or scattered light place for maintenance for a period of time. After the banyan tree is fully serviced, it can be transferred to the normal maintenance and management stage.
